I keep reading from posters that a major knock against Henne is his completion percentage in college. How important is this statistic when projecting onto the NFL? Is it possible that Henne's accuracy was much lower than say Beck since he aired the ball out more and went for bigger plays? Just asking as I have no idea...

The offense they played in has a lot to do with it. Henne completion % is not as bad as some people make it out to be. It's comparable to Ryan's and other previous top QB picks.

I dont care until i see him in a dolphins uniform throwing passes.

well all the videos i see he puts the throw in a place where only his receiver can catch it which is more important than hitting them in the numbers IMO

#1: I read a study that found that the greatest indicator for the success of a college QB in the nfl is starts and accuracy. Take it for what its worth because Henne has half of that

#2: Beck faced a lower level of competition than Henne did so it really isn't about who aired it out more. Henne does have the knock on him that if you pressure him he throws erratic passes so that has to be measured in too.

Beck threw for almost 4000 yards, at 13.4 yards per reception
Henne was less than 2000 with 11.9 per reception, so it was Beck putting it down the field. Also Beck had a 69% completion to Hennes 59. I hear these excuses about being hurt...blah blah blah. Yes accuracy is very important!

things to remember about some of Henne's accuracy problems.

1-His sophomore year Avant,Massaquoi, and Breaston were all injured. Plus he went from just having to throw the ball up for Braylon Edwards to go get to having to read defenses.

2-He could barely lift his arm half the season this year.

3-Half the time, Michigan always called several long bombs to Manningham.

John Beck.

id take a low completion percentage vs. 19 interceptions

Beck completed alot of passes against teams like Air Force and other Mountain West and WAC teams....Henne faced much tougher competition in the Big Ten.

Henne's completion % is not that bad like you guys are saying, it's comparable to Ryan's (61%) and other previous top QB picks, Peyton Manning (62%). If only accuracy stats count then Colt Brennan (70%) would be the top pick. The offense they are in accounts for a lot of it.
