How is Odrick doing?

I LOVE Odrick. For the longest time my sig was a quote from Omar Kelly (of all people) reporting on Odrick beating Jake Long for a sack.

It's going to be hard for him to win a starting spot over Starks or Langford - really hard - but I think he'll play a ton of snaps, and I think he'll be in on just about every 3rd and long. Starks, Odrick, and Wake are all exceptional pass rushers at their respective positions.

Yeah but every team has injuries every year. Look at the super bowl champs last year, at times they had 17 players out injured during the season, and a bunch of players on IR.

I mean, we are just one Cam Wake ankle slip up injury away from not having such a good defense after all.

A lot can happen in a season, or just a month, things can fall apart very quickly. Just look at the decimated O-line last year. We all expected Grove and Smiley to be there but they were both hurt in camp (Smiley with a recurring bad shoulder he's had for a long time that got really bad), injuries to Jake, Vernon playing with a bad knee from the start of the season until it gave out on him, Jerry caught a serious sickness at the start of the season and never recovered, Berger went down, as did Proctor, and the other injuries.

And that was just one unit on a team.

Someone on this defense will get a serious injury, and likely more than one starter (knock on wood for health). It happens every year. So you can't say if we had Odrick, Allen and Edds last year (and let's not forget that guys like Yeremiah Bell played injured all year last year but stuck it out). And the year before it was Jason Ferguson out for the season in the Carolina game , and then Soliai getting hurt at New England with a leg injury decimating our NT position, and other injuries to the D that year. Because every year there's injuries - on every team.. just different people (unless you were guys like Ronnie and Crowder who always seemed to get nicked up)
 
I have high expectations (as we all should) for a Big 10 DPOY in a conference that included Brandon Graham.

didn't start in the season opener last year?
 
This is interesting. Reports I heard out of camp said that he had come into it looking really overweight.

holy ****.. i just hovered over your last page of posts - every one more caustic and negative than the last. Why the **** even bother or waste Matt's bandwidth??
 
Who would Odrick start over? Langford?

Odrick/Soliai/Starks.

We're stuffed to the gills with defensive lineman.
