Ok guys im a bit confused here. Hwo does this work. The falcons had a VERY GOOD defensive game yest and a very good Offensive game. We played horrible on Offense as far as the passing goes and the Defense was Ok. Now, if the Falcons played SO well in btoh cathegories from runnig to passing and defense where we didnt do half as well as they did, how did we manage to almost win? this always happens to us. we are soo close even when we play bad and sloppy and an ugly game. I'm not going into denial or trying to eb optimistic or anything as i think our team sucks really bad right now but I think if we were to have the key spots on our team fixed this coming season we can be one of the top 3 teams in the league. the only thing is, can we manage to pull out the key victories or win teh playoff games as we havent' done in a long time. I am a bit confused on this. We honestly seem soo close hwen u compare us to the way we played as oppose to the good teams we vs n how they were hitting on all cylinders but at the same time we seem so far away.

Definitely the muffed punt & the turnover when they were about score

oh yeaaa. i knew this wan'st possible loll

We played inspired defense yesterday. They were efficient, but anyone with the ball paid the price when one of our guys laid the smack down. I like the intensity I'm seeing from this team, I just hope that our older players don't get too frustrated. We can still make the playoffs in our surprisingly pathetic division. Hell if we win next week we are in first place I think.

Go phins.

Our D might have put the lumber to their players, but the game I saw had the Falcons offense marching over our D most of the day. Not what I would call inspired.

but in the end our team gave 17 points and the gusketeer made a bad decision

We'd be a lot better if not for, "Frerotte ranks 29th in the NFL in passing" (Fox News)

It's really easy, the difference is talent. They have more of it, particularly offensively. You can have the best coaching and game planning and if your talent level is inferior to the team you are playing...you're going to lose...We have some good things going for us... the D is playing well most of the time. The breakdowns are coming fewer and fewer. The OL is improving. The run game is legit now. The secondary and the passing game are not anywhere close to where they need to be. It'll come...it just won't be this year.

I hate to admit it , but if we didnt cause a few lucky fumbles.......

That lose coulda looked much worse for us

Mainly turnovers. They lost 6/7 on the fumble in the red zone and gave us 3 on the muffed punt. This was one of those relatively rare games where the team with more turnovers won. Also, the fact that they went for it on fourth instead of kicking a 48 yard field goal that would have put them up 10 late in the game. Take away those 3 plays and the score would have been 27-7.

Miami's defense was below average against the Falcons. They made two BIG stops, and put some pressure on Vick at times. But those were the only good things they did. And somehow, it was almost enough. They have played better defense in other games this year.

Exactly how I feel. Our defence had 2 big stops and a big hit by Crowder but other than that they played horrible giving up 17 1st downs in the first half and 27 overall and again giving up a TD on their first drive to put us behind. But is not all bad.I think our o-line is getting better, we have a great young RB and Nick will take care of the defence in the offseason.

Ozzy rules!!

Not in the 2nd half. Adjustments were made in the 3rd quarter and the Falcons were held to a FG. Can't ask for much more than that. Our offense, unfortunately, was shutout and that's the hard part to stomach. Especially, because Atlanta has a small, fast front 7 and we were playing smash mouth football with success. That usually results in a win, but because of an ineffective QB and poor offensive play calling we blew it. The Dolphins outplayed the Falcons in the 4th quarter, but had nothing to show for it.

Our run D is AWESOME...The secondary is suspect.. and we knew that already.. so harping on negatives forever only does so much. Funny how the old defensive line are keeping their own, while the younger secondary is awful. Good pickups by Saban on the Oline.

Now offensively...Ricky capped a really impressive drive by the offense. By an impressive run I might add. I think the most disappointing think for me has been the play calling. Gus was never going to be Great. So all this talk about the Qb is somewhat rehashed material. We all knew Gus was going to be Average at best. WE ALL KNEW IT AND TALKED ABOUT IT ALL PRESEASON. Now he is only being what we thought he would be. No better than AJ or JAY.. but at least doesn't throw INT's for 6. And THAT is the upside to GUS...But I don't believe Linehan is truly playing to the strengths of our team. Our "playmakers". We can argue about Gus getting the ball to the players.. but as a "team" game.. wins and loses are as a team. And until Linehan... uses this team effectively..we may have to endure these Offensive coaches trying to ride Gus' arm in crucial situations.
