I realize this is a trivial question and it depends on a number of factors but how long will you be willing to give Ronnie Brown to prove himself worthy of a #2 selection. Personally, I think after 1 full year (providing he stays healthy lets hope) he should show great signs of improvement. Obviously his O-line isn't blocking as well as we'd maybe like them to be but assuming they improve he should improve with them.

I guess what I'm saying to everybody is that I'm excited to see what this offense might look like in about 3 months.

until he stops making rookie mistakes, whenever that is. with ricky in the backfield with him, i'll be more critical of what he does. right now i can't put as much blame on him as others have

I think the real question is how long should we give the OL. I understand that great talent could overcome that, which I do believe, but I don't expect ANY rookie to overcome that poor of a line as a rookie. Like they always say, it all starts on the line, in the trenches.

That is true but I honestly don't think our Line is as bad as some of you think it is. Now i'm not saying that it's our strong point but i did see some lanes open against the Jets (but for some reason it was when Sammy was running the ball). I think when Ricky comes back Ronnie will learn a lot from watching him and between the 2 of them (and an improving line) our running game could all of a sudden look solid. Throw in the improvement of our QB and WR's and our offense could be clickin.

It depends is a horrid answer to anything I know but it does really depend on the level of play. It may not be a question sooner than we think. There were some good things in the Jets game from him after watching it twice. And that was while they were trying to play catch up. He might show better stuff when we have a lead right away, breakout games and then becoming consistent.

2-3 years and there has to be some blocking. It would be bad to see the team decide he was not producing trade him and have him bust out somewhere else where they could run block......

I tell ya what, if they're willing to invest a #2 overall pick in a running back, they better be ready to draft some offensive linemen highly in the coming years. You don't make that big an investment without supporting it.

" For all of you Ronnie Brown haters here are some stats for you to mull over about another running back in his rookie year:

Through Week 1: 8 attempts for 0 yards.
Through Week 4: 57 attempts for 156 yards (2.7 ypc average)
First TD of season: Week 7
First 100 yard game: Week 9
100 yard games for season: 2

Here's another bust of a back who missed most of training camp his rookie year's stats:

Through Week 1: 2 carries for 2 yards
Through Week 2: 8 carries for 13 yards (1.6 ypc)
Through Week 4: 37 Carries for 104 yards (2.8 ypc)
First 100 yard game: Week 5
100 yard games for season: 3

Who were these awful horrendous running back busts???

#1 was none other than the sweetness Walter Payton
#2 was NFL rushing and rushing TD leader Emmitt Smith

Point being. We have no idea how a RBs career will play out just because he does not look like a HOF starting his career

INFO FROM SOMEONE ELSE......PRETTY GOOD

well, he should be an elite back at the first half of next year. However, I want to see some flashes at least during this year's homestretch. I'm hoping Ricky's return will allow ronnie to learn a bit more. However, there should be some clear improvement by the end of this year. I'm not saying he has too bust out 120 yard games. But I want to see a YPC average somehere around 4.

How long is ronnie?

I havent seen it with my own eyes, but I have heard from the grapevine that its 6-8 inches.

Oh, wait, maybe I misread the orignal question...nevermind.
