Sean Smith leads the Dolphins with passes defended and I read where he is 3rd in the NFL as far as passes being completed on him.

And Will Allen is showing his age.

I think our coaches did the right thing in getting both rookies into the game to give them both experience.

I think Will Allen could lose his starting job within 4-5 games.

Yes, W. Allen will be a back up soon. I would say after week 8 Davis and Smith will be the starters.

i think the starters the rest of the year (barring injury) remain S.Smith and W.Allen as they are now... Unless vontae gets a lot better in coverage very fast which I doubt he will in only 1 year, probably 2-3 years. Remember he was a very late first round pick.. there were some issues with him coming out of college.

s.smith was just a complete steal, from the way he's playing so far he looks like he should have went top 7. he will probably be our #1 corner for a long time

Not sure Will Allen has in the past been "the" steady rock of our defence. Hopefully with him getting picked on recently it is because of how well those 2 rookies are playing and not because Will Allen is getting old. If that is the case I would prefer to have all 3 on the field at once especially with all the secondary issues we are having in pass defence. We need some help somewhere!

If Will Allen keeps playing the way he is, it won't be long. Davis will eventually unseat Allen by the end of the season.

yah but even with vontae not playing that great yet our corners are still playing decent overall.. Will Allen just had a few bad games he is a pretty decent corner.

the problem is at fs and ss..

Been very impressed by Davis and almost equally disappointed with Allen.

I think it's clear that Smith's the best corner on our team, but inclined to say that Davis is our second best.

Sean Smith is very impressive so far. Hopefully he continues to improve. Davis has look alright, i dont think he has done anything yet to surpass W. Allen on the depth chart. That wouldve been a nice one hand grab if he wouldve caught that but i still dont think he would pass Will Allen up just yet. Hes the veteran of our CBs and i doubt they would sit him unless he continues to get burnt and start to play 'extremely' bad or get injured. He definately needs to step his game up tho, thats for damn sure. Ive been disappointed with Will Allen i thought he was better than hes shown so far this season.

Wow both of them starting their rookie year will hopefully spell the start of a great CB duo for years to come. Sounds good to me!

I don't know what you've seen, but I thought Vontae has been covering well (yeah, and he was the second CB taken in the draft). Then again, I've been completely biased ever since evil Ronnie nearly ended Josh Freeman's (rookie QB Tampa) career in preseason.

Next year...I don't think they are going to replace Allen quite yet.

I hope soon. I'd rather see them take their lumps sooner rather than later. And Will Allen, as much as I've liked him in the past, hasn't gotten the job done so far this year.

Here is the thing I will always remember about this draft and this pick. First off, our front office has HUGE BALLS. I broke this down once but if you want to, go to NFL.com, then draft tracker and look at the 5 teams who picked after us.

Sean Smith is on the board and after us are at least 3 teams that could/should of grabbed him. And our front office...............TRADES DOWN WITH THE COLTS! I had been talking and watching S Smith for months (since the game against Bama) so we pass on him and I slightly peed myself.....:(

But then he is not only still setting there, but with the pick we get from the Colts we take............Chris Clemons who is IMO another steal of the draft. He is not only the fastest Safety at the combine(and about the biggest), but he averaged over 100 tackles a year at Clemson.

I'm looking for all three to be starters by the first game of next season if not late this year.
