How long can we gamble on Manning and not miss out on Flynn?

He has stated that he wants to go somewhere with Reggie Wayne so that would mean he wont sign until Wayne can.

I don't think Peyton will sign too soon either but this won't be the reason why. Wayne will follow Peyton, it definitely won't be the other way around.

Manning is going to make his decision ASAP. He wants to learn the new playbook already to be ready for training camp.

It is in Manning's best interests to sign before FA start because he needs his team to know what other holes are on the roster and have the time to fill them. Manning has very little time left in his career. He needs the team he is signing with to be as ready to compete for a title as possible. If he drags this out into FA, he is limiting his new team's ability to improve the team around him. Plus, he loses suitors. Someone is going to sign Flynn, Orton, Henne, and Young. He is going to want to dictate where he goes, not be dictated to. I can almost guarantee he will be on a new team before FA starts...

I agree, Manning did not get to the point where he is at, because he sat around, waiting, the guy calculates everything, almost sleeps with his playbook, watches tons of film on all the teams he will be facing in the season.

This is a very very well prepared individual, he already knows which teams he likes, and which team he prefers. Payton does not seem like the type of guy that will be playing around, wasting time just for the sake of leverage, and raising his price...Peyton is a football junkie, he will want to be absorbing playbooks, and offensive strategy for his new team as as possible.
