I keep hearing through various reports that it takes time for the offensive line
to gel as well as the secondary. Yet, last night I heard on MNF that the Saints had a lot of personnel changes including some on the offensive line and yet it doesn't seem to have taken them very long. Question: Why? Is it
coaching? Is it talent? I have also been reading that in the NFL good solid offensive lines across the board are rare, most are average to medieocre with maybe one or two starters that are above average. So I was wondering why
is our group are taking so long? I know there are injuries but other teams have injuries to. There is not a rookie in our group. I have also seen the backs and tight ends totally miss their blocks in fact I saw one of our backs
(I don't know who it was) totally didn't see the blitzing corner at all. I am not
looking to blame I was just trying to find some real answers not excuses.

you have to have some talent, too.

Injuries have been taking their toll on our offensive line this year. Definitely at right guard. Our latest one we just brought in, Jacox, needs to get up to speed in a hurry. He didn't play too well in the Titans game.

I realize that Culpepper is to blame too for some of the protection problems,
but over all the offensive line, tight ends, and backs when it comes to pass
blocking seems so... well incompetent. Like I said before I feel you could
put down five refrigerators in front of Culpepper and he would have a little more time...
at least there would be no illegal motion or movement penality !!!

I don't think it has anything to do with the O-Line gelling. We've had this same horrible O-line since the Wanny days....until we get some real O-lineman, we ain't going anywhere.

I suppose it depends upon the caliber of the players involved. We have had a constant roating player so far, a new O-line coach a new offensive coordinator, and it just isn't as good as it could be situational-wise. We'll get there. But giving up on them after 2 or 3 games doesn't make sense.

85% O-lines fault 15% Daunte's fault
O-line can't pass protect or run protect for crap, Ronnie Brown has struggle for yardage and his avging 1 yard less of his rookie year. We've lost 120 yards on sacks in just 3 games which is the worst in the league thats just hopeless.

This offseason get ready for
Extreme Makeover: O-line edition

They are physically unable to do so.

 Funny AND True !!

There isnt a unit group there. Too many Guards going down and a new Centre with McKinney out isnt helping, weve had bad luck with injuries especially as we were not IMO a good O-Line to begin with. We did improve over the season last year but this year with a new QB to protect the O-Line is shaky and inconsistant at best.
