Looking back at other teams that changed their offense to a West Coast style how long do we all realistically believe it will take for our offense to click with this system. Yes, if Matt Flynn comes along that provides some experience and intelligence in the West Coast offense, but what about the rest of the offense. As I understand it, and I may very well be wrong, isn't the West Coast style very different from what currently run? That being said, if it is true, next season will likely be a big learning year for the offense. If we get a QB other than Flynn, that learning curve could take even longer. At least Flynn knows the system at the most important position in a West Coast offense (make that any offense for that matter). Flynn honestly provides us with the ability to adjust to this system the fastest and in turn get more victories.
Ok let me have it guys! haha

It wont take long at all, Brandon Marshall was in the west coast system in Denver and he had great production, the wc system actually fits reggie bush perfect, quick slants, underneath pass routes to the RB, I think we will be just fine, we will have a whole off-season to implement the WC system

good question, that's why bringing in Flynn in so important. I'm not sure how well Moore would do in this type of offense.

I agree. It could fit him like a glove or like a pair of slacks that were owned buy a person who once weighed 400 pounds and now weighs 200. That is yet to be determined. I do feel that he would fare better than J.P. Losman though!

I have always thought the WC offense was based more on timing and reads by the QB & receivers. Realistically, it could take a while for everyone to get on the same page. Or, there may have to be some changes made if some players don't seem to be a good fit for the system.

The good thing is there's no lock out this year so we'll have all the mini camps and training camp to install the offence

Ozzy rules!!

1) in this league you can put in a new offense over night (ie the offseason) and have no problems.

2) It all depends on quick the QB can learn it. It's a QB league, have one and you win. Don't and you lose

I'd say a couple years to really get it playing at a "high level."

West Coast Offense is predicated on complicated reads, beacoup options off the reads, timing, familiarity, etc. ... you can run it sloppy ... but you're not going to get good results until it runs like a "well oiled precision machine"

There's been articles in the past about teams needing a couple years to get it right. Common to see things go wrong on experienced teams when guys aren't on the same page due to D-allignments, reads, blitzes, etc.

Shaking up your OL can sometimes take until mid-season before everyone's hitting on all cylinders in unison. Would the WCO change the blocking schemes? If so then you have the same issue, with the additive problem that we still have some sorting out to do on our line.

I think that is kind of over simplifying things but that's just me....
