I've kind of assumed that Miami would draft a qb next year to groom behind Gus Ferotte (sp) and that Gus would be the starter this year and most of next. Still a strong possibility, but the recent trade for Cleo Lemon makes me wonder if something else is in store. I could see Lemon playing a bit this year if Miami gets out of the race, which unfortunately(or fortunately perhaps) is likely. That would give Saban and Linehan a chance to see first hand if Lemon can be the future, or if they have to make a move for a qb in the offseason. So how long do you all think Gus will start?

if he sucks next game which he will, then i expect sage to be given a chance.

i still want us to draft a qb on the first day of the draft.

i think we will get a top 10 pick and many studs will still be around.

forget this lemon bum (was a salary cap move and he will be dumped too).

bringing in gus was clearly a win now move. it's becoming more apparent though that gus isn't gonna help us win now, and im sure that as soon as we are out of contention both sage and cleo will get looks. gus will not be a starter next year, and may not even be on the team. it depends on how much he is slated to make and if he will accept a backup role

Gus wont start next year.

Hopefully he will be on the bench by week 8. Maybe replaced by a sprinkle of Sage or a sour Lemon.

Not neccessarily. Gus has always been inconsistent and streaky. He's had 2 forgettable games and is now due for a big game. KC's secondary is suspect. I have a feeling he will throw for multiple TD passes and over 300 yds.

He's going to start for the rest of the year until we get all of our pieces in place. Gus was a one-year plug in and we all knew that going in. Even if one of our young guys can play saban's not going to want them to get killed by our poor o-line

hope not for long man I almost wish that he would get injured

Again, you dont know what you are talking about. Why would Miami give up a 6th rounder for Lemon is he was going to be dumped too? Geeeez! They could have just cut Feeley, but THEY WANTED Lemon. Word is that they have been scouting him for months.

i have been hoping this for the whole season.

maybe the chiefs will blitz a derrick johnson up the middle and hit gus knee like zach did when he accidently went into griese's left knee.

as messed up as it that is duss, I've actually thought of it myself. Nothing bad, but I thought "why can't gus be one of those guys with a strained arch in his foot or something". Something not real serious, but enough to keep him out a couple of games. But the sad reality is, do you really expect much of an upgrade in play if he goes down and we're left with rosenfels, and now cleo lemon?
