Of all the 32 NFL teams, only 4 have been to the Super Bowl more times than our Phins. Sounds unbelievable eh? It's been a long drought but there was a time when we were relevant. All of our younger generation fans must feel like Lions and Browns fans. Hopefully we will turn things around soon. Believe me, there's nothing more exciting than watching your team in the "big game"!

FYI:
Pittsburgh 8 appearances
Dallas 8 appearances
New England 7
Denver 6

San Fran, Green Bay, Washington, Oakland, and the Giants are all tied with the Phins with 5 appearances.

Just a little tidbit of info to break up the monotony!

Not to me....they went to the Superbowl 5 times in the first 15 years I was a fan....including back to back titles and of course undefeated....thats why the last decade has been completely unacceptable to me.

I realized we'd never maintain our pace the first time I walked into the pathetic excuse for a stadium in '87.

I predict there eventually will be a notation by this category, percentage of years the Dolphins made the Super Bowl not counting the wasted half century in the Robbie bowl, by any other name.

Furthermore, until about 6 years ago, the Dolphins had the best winning percentage of ANY major league sports team, and it wasn't even close.

I used to have a site bookmarked that outlined this, but that was a couple of computers ago. Anybody?

and for any Dolphin fan under 30 years old (like me), we haven't seen a single super bowl appearance. 1984 doesn't count because we were not born yet or were in diapers.

There is a big rift between older Dolphin fans and younger Dolphin fans. The older keep reliving the glory days and at least feel content with having seen a winning team. The younger fans.......well, you know.

I remember the pride I had as a kid in the mid-80's knowing that only "America's Team", the Dallas Cowboys, had appeared in as many SB's as us. The Dolphins used to be sports royalty.

I don't want to sound like I am full of hate, but I was born in '79 and have been a Dolphins fan since birth thanks to Dan. That is a long a** time since then and I am over it even though I keep coming back to the team every year because they are my team. I really don't care if more or less teams have gone to a super bowl than us, I want to see us in one. 30+ years is wayyyyy to long for me to experiance something like that IMO.

Say what you want about the facility, but I think Joe Robbie deserves a huge amount of respect for using his own money to build that stadium instead of putting his hands out and begging the local taxpayers for it.

Here are some accomplishments....a little homerism, but they are facts, so...

1. In the very exclusive club of 5 SB or more club.

2. Top 5 in winning % in the NFL (as of last year).

3. Only team to go to 3 straight SBs, and win at least 1.

4. Had arguably the best HC/QB combination ever.

5. Had argubaly the Greatest Center to play the game.

6. Had argubaly the Greatest Passer to play the game.

7. Had argubaly the Greatest HC to coach the game.

8. Had argubaly the Greatest FB to ever play the game.

9. Had one of the 5 best QBb/WR td combintions ever.

10. Only team to go unbeaten and untied for an entire season.
