Where we stand today, how many teams are worse than us? Cleveland? Jacksonville?

Enough to ensure we're not the 1st ones to draft...

Seahawks I would say are better at the moment. That could change if we get a qb.

There are 7 teams that are worse than the Dolphins, leaving 24 that are better.

Worse teams?

the pre-preseason inverted power rankings should look somehting like this:

1. Cleveland Browns - RGIII? Nope. This franchise is seemingly snakebit.
2. Indianapolis Colts - Luck is a savior, right? Yeah well needs players and te Colts have let all the good ones go.
3. Jacksonville Jags - Blain Gabbert is blah. They did get a new Coach so.... who knows for sure
4. Your Miami Dolphins - New Coach, same crappy front office. Desperately seeking QB. Again.

Cleveland needs weapons on offense. They have some very nice players on defense and a nice OL, but they have no reliable targets. I think they are a lock to draft Trent Richardson.

Jacksonville has MJD, and a surprisingly good defense. But they are in bad situation with no fan support and people already questioning Blaine Gabbert.

The Colts are getting Andrew Luck yes, but they have no OL, no run game, and are switching to a 3-4 and have no players for that defense. But at this point and time they are worse.

I won't say the Jets are worse than us, but I won't say they are better either. Let's just say if they have a disappointing season, that team is probably getting blown up.

Rams are still worse than us, but loading up on picks is a good start. They have an injury prone OL and no weapons in the receiving game.

Vikings need WR options since Percy Harvin is a health concern and they need to rebuild the OL. Also have to rebuild the defense.

Chiefs need everybody to be healthy and Matt Cassell to perform well to be competitive. If Cassell plays like he did last year before getting hurt, we are better than them.

We are better than Washington too. Good for them going after RG3, but they really overpaid for Garcon and Morgan.

I like Dennis Allen as HC in Oakland, but they really lack offensive weapons outside of McFadden and he is rarely healthy.

4th worst team in the league huh? Right

Considering we are picking in the top 8 and with the team thus far un-improved, I'd say 7/6 teams are worse.

Are we talking about teams that are worse in terms of record, or teams that we think are worse in terms of talent, coaching, front office, etc?

Because in that case I'd say:

1. Jacksonville (hopeless franchise)
2. Tampa Bay
3. Cleveland
4. St. Louis
5. Kansas City
6. Oakland
7. Denver
8. Minnesota
9. Buffalo
10. Washington
11. New York Jets
12. Seattle

If you look around the NFL, a lot of teams are dysfunctional. I think that Mike Brown is enough of an incompetent cheapskate that Cincinnati will be back on that list very soon, and even teams like the Eagles and Cowboys have big problems.

The fact is that a lot of franchises are really struggling right now. If you look around, what do you notice about the good franchises? What sets the Chargers apart from the Broncos or Chiefs? Why is a team with a garbage defense like the Lions or Patriots so much better than another team with a garbage defense like Minnesota or Tampa Bay?

Good quarterback play.
