How many wins will we get if R&R each run for 1000 yards?

So I'm sure many of you have heard by now that Ricky has gone on to say that he and Ronnie Brown will both reach 1000 yards each this season. It has only happend 3 times before. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-1-41/Ricky-Williams---Off-the-NFL-radar-.html

With the way Ricky is looking during Training Camp and the way Ronnie is progressing, it's safe to say that we could have one of the, if not the most dynamic backfield in the NFL.

If both Ronnie and Ricky reach their 1000's this season. What does that mean for our record. Obviously that is an IF, but lets just say it happens. At the end of the season what could our record look like if we had 2 1000 yard rushers???

So pick a # of wins in the Poll and post your reasons behind that.

Me, I'm going to say 9. Now, I don't think we'll win 9 games this season. See, I don't think we have the QB in place yet to win 9 games. Teams will eventually put 8 or 9 in the box until we are able to throw the ball effectively. So as nice as our backfield is I don't see them both reaching 1000 yards. That also means they both have to be healthy. It isn't impossible though. The last year they played together was Ronnie's Rookie year. In '05 Ronnie had 907 yards rushing in 15 games as a rookie. he is much better now but still none the less coming off ACL injury.

Ricky ran for 743 yards that same season. However he was not anywhere near the condition he is currently in. We all know they can both Avg. over 5 yards per carry. Also we will have a much better O-line then they've had before so that works to their favor. Ultimately it's possible and if they each both run for 1000 yards I could see us winning 9 games.

If they both have 1,000 yards, I think it will help our record, but I don't think that alone will put us in the playoffs. I chose 8 wins from the poll. Ricky had over 1,800 yards by himself in 2002 and the team only had 9 wins for the season. Lets not forget that we also fielded a much better defense that year.

How many games did we win the year Ricky went for 1853 or whatever? I know we missed the playoffs. Ill play along and vote, but it wont happen. Im glad Ricky is confident, but unless one of the 3 qbs in camp can be competent, 8-9 man fronts are in R&R's future.

If both of them had 1000 yards, that means our offense is staying on the field and the defense is resting. The sky is the limit in that scenario.

However, it won't happen. We will see eight in the box for much of the season, since our quarterbacks frighten no one.

without adequate qb play ricky and ronnie aren't running for 2k between them. we're gonna see a lot of 8 man fronts til a qb steps up.

Yeah I agree with the lot of you who are saying it probably won't happen especially because we don't have an established passing attack and they will end up seeing 8 and 9 man fronts.

Like I said, I'm just trying to get something to pass some time and figured hey if Ronnie and Ricky did end up getting that, I wonder how many wins we'd have..... So I figured I'd pass it on to everyone on Finheaven to think about as well.

I chose 6.

There were actually 4 teams in NFL history that had 2 1,000 yard rushers. The 72 Dolphins (14-0), the 76 Steelers (10-4), the 85 Browns (8-8) and the 2006 Falcons (7-9). The average winning percentage for those teams is .663 which works out closest to an 11-5 record.

However, the one thing I noted was the decreasing amount of wins every time it happened, even though the first 2 teams played 2 less games then the next two teams. So, I figure the 5th team to do it is going to win less games. So I went with 6.

I vote seven still shy of the playoffs but an improvement nonetheless..., two 1000 rushers means that we are in a lot of ball games in the 4th quarter and not pass happy as usual...

Still works in our favuor that we can Play-action and dump to wilford sure handed possession receiver drag the defender to 1st down kind of sick freak... Ginn is supposed to strech the field and send the fear of God into the opposing team D that's cheating on the run...

I for one like it..., Wanny-ball or not this is tried and true way of dictating your opponents play...

Only differance is we have a stable of talented backs this year while wanny only had Ricky.

If both R&R had a 1000yds this season, not only would it be incredible, we would easily be a 1- win team. In the AFC that doesn't automatically translate into a playoff birth, as those who remember the year Ricky won the rushing title.

But damn wouldnt that be awesome.

For all of you saying it won't happen because every defense will put 8 or 9 in the box......... I wouldn't be too quick to just assume that happens all season. While our passing game is a question mark there is some talent there and it's not out of the realm of possibility that they put up some big plays if opposing defenses want to crowd the box too often. If that happens then teams will be forced to back off some. Now I'm not saying that they will do it because it really is such a differicult feat even when teams aren't crowding the line but it definitely is possible.

If there are 8 or 9 man fronts, I better see some big time play action to Ginn and Wilford. Hopefully one of our QB can pull it off.

if they can both get 1000 yards that means our line is doing good our and our pass is doing good and if the D does good then i can see us winning 10 or 11 games
