just wondering how much Grove got because Runyan is out there and the money used on grove i know they play different OL positions but i think Satele is young and will only develop more strength ans is a better center. Runyan is solid and nobody can say he isn't healthy 12 years never missed a game and fought through injuries but still played at a high level

also we should address bringing in a young dt Fergusson is old and Solia is descent but Igor Olshansky is out there and he is young and i think can plug up the whole and has good speed for a dt

May I ask where Jon Runyan fits on this team? Seriously. We just locked up our RT for 6 years, and used the #1 pick on a LT last year. Unless he signs for the veterans minimum as a reserve, then that makes absolutely no sense.

Also, while we do need a NT, Igor Olshansky is not even close to being the answer. He plays end in the 3-4.

Igor i think is better to have than Ferguson and also i realize we have 2 Tackles 1 of them Vernon Carey played guard at one point im saying rt Runyan rg Vernon Carey C Satele Lg Smiley lt Long= Brown 1,000 plus yards

He is not a better NT than Ferguson. What would even give you that impression?

We didnt just make Vernon the league's highest paid RT to play him at guard. He is probably a better tackle than Runyan anyway.

Igor is 6-6 309 26 years old and is a beast with more speed at nt
Ferguson is 6-3 305 34 years old and has more fat than muscle

Ok whatever about Runyan just saying the money spent on Grove could have been in better hands and you know what your getting out of Runyan or he can move to guard he is getting older and tougher for him to catch these up an coming speed demon de/lolb im sure he would be solid at guard and would bring something to the Dolphins not many have a Healthy Season to make a fact he has been healthy his entire career playing in every game of his 12 year career IMPRESSIVE

I dont know about you, but speed isnt exactly one of the first things I look for in a NT. You cannot just use a guy's height/weight as an indicator of their ideal position. Olshansky is not nearly as stout as Ferguson, thus wouldnt make a good NT.

i like Ferguson i just think he is to old and being stout isn't always good i rather have a well built Nt Igor rather than a stout one Cut block Ferguson and he is out for the entire play.

Oh, I definitely agree with you that we need to find an eventual replacement for Ferguson. I just dont think Olshansky is that guy. There is no way that he can take on double teams in the middle of the line. That said, as a 3-4 end, he is a really solid player and I'm surprised he hasnt generated more interest on the FA market.

alright we can put this one to rest for now though he also plays de and with vonnie gone i think a 3 man de rotation would be smart instead of 2 second year players starting

We do have a three-man rotation. It includes Langford, Merling and Starks.

Igor played both last year and has the size for NT and Starks i consider more an NT than De Igor Merling Langford would be beast and we can keep Ferguson at NT for now lol and have Starks back him up along with Solia

A Nose Tackle is preferably short and stout. If he is tall he needs to be freakin huge. Ivan would need about 50 more pounds at his height.
