How much did the Brandon Marshall trade really cost?

The seconds were the 45th (12th in the 2nd) overall pick in 2010, and the 45th or 46th (12 or 13th in the 2nd) overall pick in 2011. Time will tell how much worse the 3rds are than the 2nds. With the parity in the NFL it wouldn't be surprising for Chicago to regress and end up the 12th worst (or worse) team in the NFL either of the next two years.

This^^^^ Thank for bringing some sensibility to the issue. Getting two 3rds for BM and two years of production are worth the two 2nds we gave up. It's a push for the front office. They took a chance thinking he might turn things around personally, but it didn't work out. We do need to replace him, but we also have good enough picks in this draft that we should be able to find a very good WR.

What I remember most about BM is all the game changing passes that he dropped that were right in his hands!
 
The last thing our new coach needed was a head case reciever who dropped more TD passes than he caught and constantly complained about whom ever was our QB.
They got what they could for him and now he's where he wanted to be. Good luck to Brandon. Move on.
 
bm was a good player but i would not put him in the top 10 wr in the nfl or even top 20.he has tons of ability but never really did much here in miami.the best game he had as a pro was in the pro bowl where the qb's are not allowed to b touched

To say he is not top 10 or even top 20 is pretty short sighted no offense
 
Really dont care what it cost, he was not that great for us last year. I know he went to the pro bowl and had an awesome game, but he dropped too many balls. I for one am glad he is gone. His personality scarred the crap out of me!
 
You get production from almost any WR that you throw to as often as we did Marshall.

Besides his mental problems and "off the field" problems, he has a very large contract that a team trading for him had to take. Look how the Eagles are now begging someone to trade for A Samuel just so they can dump his contract.

There were not several teams lining up to trade for B Marshall. Jay Cutler talked the Bears into taking him.

I personally look at the savings in money, team chemistry and constant off the field problems.

Look how we will no longer have to have press conferences explaining his actions.

SINCE 2002 the Patriots lead the NFL with 15 pro bowlers drafted
we are tied 3rd from last with 5...can't remember where I saw it but it was today

I think we were lined up to get more for Marshall in that trade, but we never accepted it at first because we thought we had a shoot at Manning still. After Marshall had yet again another incident, I believe that the Bears pulled the original offer off the table and it was the same time in which we found out the probability for Manning was small. Therefore we ended up getting as much as we could before more facts came out about his incident.

and your defense still not great. your new bust is the fat ass from BC. second round flop. He really should have been cut last year. You keep bringing in CB's in FA and WR every year. Its rediculous. oh well, tommy boy is 35. the tide will turn soon.

I do not think Manning and Marshall would have mixed at all.

Manning is a perfectionist while Marshall has a habit of making up his routes as he goes along. After about the 3rd-4td time that Marshall zigged when he was supposed to zag, Manning would have went off on him. Manning also would not feed him the ball unless he did as he was supposed to.

It might have been fun to watch but not if you were a Dolphin fan.
 
that stat about NE starters drafted is pretty cool - I think they got what they could out of BM....the person that said he's not a top 20 WR is off their rocker - but is he one of the top 20 WRs you want on you roster due to the baggage associated with him - that's the real question!
