How much do players take home a week?

Lets say for examply that Teddy Gin is due to make 6 million dollars this season, how much does he get paid every week on his "game check" And do they get paid any other time during the year or do they just get game checks? Also are the game checks distributed on game day or is it like direct deposit or something? I heard a while back that after the game the checks are waiting for them in their lockers..

Next to Sunday, Friday is probably every NFL player's favorite day - payday. But, because players are paid every other week and only during the regular season, there are only nine pay days per season. On eight of those, players get paid for two weeks. On one, they are paid for one week.
Every player on the roster gets paid, even if he doesn't play.
Just like anyone else, players have deductions taken from their paychecks. The government takes its share, of course, and there are http://www2.tbo.com/topic/k/subtractions/deductions for insurance and benefits plans. Still, the checks can be quite sizeable.

Mind you this is an old story (early 90s?), anecdotal at best. I had an uncle who lived near Giants Stadium and was a big fan of the Giants. He knew one of their players pretty well and a comment was made that he often forgot to cash his paycheck.

All I know is some players, taken high in the first round, get enough $$$ up-front out of college before playing a down to actually retire -- albeit they'd have to live a relatively "normal" life and not blow money on crazy crap like turbo charged hummers with wet bars and "personal massage service."

I asked Bob Brudzinsky this question once at Bru's Room, and he said it all depended on the contract, done on an individual basis. They don't line up at a pay window.

It all depends on the player's contract, someone making 3 million a season is defintely going to get a bigger paycheck than someone making the league min.. of 295K..
