I really cant stress enough the importance of having Rob in the lineup...He picks up blitzes well...He gives a solid backfield passing option...And hes clutch when we need a receiver in a bail out play...I know Lamar Gordon wasnt bad trying to catch out of the backfield, but with Rob in there, he gives us that extra something...

yeah his presence is huge. Badly missed right now. Good lead blocker, and a pass catching threat as well. He had several catches last year, and his average yards per rec. was like 15 yards

Yep. Domino effect. Now Mc Mike in backfield, cant go out for passes...Eastlick must not be impressing, as he isnt on the field much, and they signed Martin,,,instead of a big DT to fill Chester's spot.

whats the status of him anyway?..... will he back for the steelers..??

i hope to high heavens konrad will be back SOON.

ive been saying it for years and ill say it again in this post: WE NEED KONRAD and if anything is going to happen this season, he is an essential part of that. i think perhaps it might not have helped us against the bengals, but it also might have save fielder's a$$ against the titans. had konrad been in, i feel they may have put points on the board for the simple reason he helps change it up and moves the chains.

that said, we are where fate brought us. but KONRAD is a neccessity.

any word on his health?

It may be that just having a fullback that knows all the plays would help. Easlick has done a fantastic job considering he's an undrafted rookie free agent!

Uhmm, I don't think Konrad would have any difference in the outcome of the games we have played.
Disagree. he might have picked up the blitz better and hes an outlet guy who can catch and run. We were that close against the Bengals he cud have made a difference. Ive missed Konrad.

Hes expected to practice and play this sunday. Good news cos we need all the help we can get!!

Easlick does what he's supposed to like Konrad. Neither was going to change the two debacles they have had on the field. They aren't going to change the entire game plan if Konrad is there instead of Easlick. The problems on that team are way beyond the FB position.

We never use him so how can we miss him. Konrad is very overrated. He is often injured and has been over his career. Im sick of talking about this guy like he something special.

How come when he was a FA only one other team made a run at him? Please, he is a nice player and all.......but the guy isn't the best FB in football.

I won't get into Rob's abilities since that is quite subjective and there is a wide range of opinions as can be seen on this thread and others (though I agree with the majority opinion :) ).

However, on the FA statement, you don't have your facts right. Rob was scheduled to visit, or had preliminary offers from 8 teams. There was only one team that he would have considered (his home town team) and that fell through when they decided to go with Richie Anderson who had played for the OC before. Rob then cancelled all the trips and re-signed with the Dolphins. PS - Richie Anderson jilted the team when he got a call from Parcells and wound up signing with the Cowboys.

Right now, we need all of the people in the lineup that are familiar with the offense as we can. Konrad gives us that. Easlick did an OK job with the limited amount of time he's had, but Konrad allows us to open the offense up more as he knows the blocking assignments better. Also, with Konrad in the lineup, McMike doesn't have to help in the backfield and can be another outlet for Feeley.

Don't underestimate Konrad's value, he is a big part of our offense.

He has never been a big part of our offense any under coordinator.
