will Ricky Williams get this year? I'm curious to see what you Miami fans think. I picked him up in my fantasy league, but he was pretty low in the rankings. Is it because he won't get any playing time? Or maybe he was low in rank just because he didn't play at all last year? I know you guys are pretty deep in the RB position at the moment w/ Gordon, Morris, and your first round pick Ronnie Brown.

this is my very 1st post.. i'm actually a 49ER fan at heart.. just tryin to find some info on ricky dub! but i have love for fans that stay faithful to their team.. good luck this year miami!

Once he returns you should see a lot of RW, the OC already has a number of packages to feature RW and RB in at the same time..The guy's a great RB in this league and he will be used.

He's probably not a good choice because we seem to think that Brown will get the bulk of carries...Saban won't rely on RW like Wanny did. Also, it is Linehan's signature offense to operate a RB-by-committee setup...Even when RW comes back from his suspension, he'll probably be sharing the carries. If Brown comes into camp real late, then Gordon will get the bulk of carries early on and probably earn himself a share of carries once Ricky returns, so that could affect his carries and yards as well...a little risky to pick Williams, however, if you can platoon him with someone else, that might work.

BTW...(where ar my manners)...Welcome aboard...

There is no consensus on this. Some believe that RW is the same back of a couple of years ago and that come week 5 he'll be back in the starting lineup. Others believe that there is no way we drafted a guy #2 to be a backup and that Brown will be the better all around back for this offense. For fantasy purposes I'd assume that these guys will split carries and that neither one will be a great starting (fantasy) back unless an injury claims one.

Other info that you might find useful is that RW has looked good in camp and is clearly the most talented guy out there. He is smaller and doesn't seem to have the power he used to have but is quicker than before and seems to still have his instincts. RB is, of course, still unsigned.

Thanks for the info and the welcome as well!

Yeah I read in yahoo notes that Jason Taylor mentioned RW was the same old Ricky Dub. He came back a little smaller, but quicker.

Even if he splits carries, I'll be happy if he gets at least 800-900 yards. If he's still the truckhorse he used to be, then hopefully they'll use him in goal line situations and he'll score a few TD's. That's all I'm asking for. I have Ahman Green as my other RB, along with Frank Gore (SF rookie) and Jerome Bettis (no yardage but TD killer) so I should be fine.

I think Ricky will end up in the 800 yard range, maybe more if Ronnie Brown is injured ( :shakeno: ).

Think one of the Vikings runningbacks form the previous couple of years, and you'll have a pretty good barometer.

I think Ricky'll get a bunch of time. At the very least I see him splitting time with Ronnie 50/50, but when you have two talents like that on your team, you can expect Linehan will be creating formations to use them both. I'm really excited to see what happens after Ricky comes back. I think it'll make for some interesting football.
