I wonder how much we will use the wilcat this sunday. When we played the Jest the first time around, we had not yet used the wilcat, for obvious reasons, it was the first game of the season. But my point is, the jets have not seen the wilcat live. I know they have watched plenty of tape on it, but they have not faced it live. I wonder how much we will use it on sunday. I think it will be a big part of the game plan. what do you guys think?

I don't see us using it more than 2-3 times. I think Pennington is going to have a great game, and we will want to put the ball in his hands more often than not.

I hope we don't see the same old Wildcat that isn't fooling anyone anymore.

Let's see a new wrinkle.. because I'm starting to think they don't have any!

Don't be fooled. The dumbing down of the wildcat has been on purpose, just like the lack of touches Ronnie has had. I have a feeling (like you) they have all kinds of different wrinkles just waiting for the right time and I have a feeling they are about to unleash the four horses Ronnie/Ricky/Patrick and Lousaka for ball control and bad weather.

All our backs are contributing. No better time than now to unfurl those wrinkles and give it a new facelift.. puns intended!:hi5:

i hope they throw in a few wrinkles, the wildcat is a huge reason we were able to turn it around this year and probably the most exciting formation in the NFL.

i want to see the same play we ran yesterday with cobbs taking the reverse, but faking it to cobbs, maybe it will leave ronnie with some more room on the backside.

Cobbs in for Pennington. Ricky in the shotgun, Ronnie in motion and gets the ball, stops and throws back to Ricky for a TD!

I could be wrong, but I think the Jets run a 3-4. We have been playing a lot of 4-3s as of late and, admittedly I am parroting what people who actually know about football have been saying, that may be part of the reason it hasn't been as successful.

In the KC game, we saw a reverse hand off coming out of the Wildcat.. I think that was something the Phins wanted to keep for the Jets game, however we needed yardage.. so they used it..

Hopefully, they have a few more wrinkles to unleash

21-15 Jets with under a minute to go. Dolphins have the ball on the Jets 15 yard line. The Dolphins line up in the Wildcat formation. Brown takes the snap, fakes the handoff to Ricky, rolls to his left, throws the ball to the endzone to a wide open Pennington for the game winning touchdown. :)

I'm expecting to see new wrinkles. Would also be nice to see the toss to Pennington and pass to Cobbs play again.

how does that make any sense? with four linebackers on the field you have an extra athlete on the field as compared to an extra interior lineman in a 4-3 and the wildcat makes you defend an extra person so why would a 4-3 be more effective? The Patriots had no idea what hit them first time around, but their 3-4 pretty much shut it down second time around, the ravens run a 3-4 and they made the formation non existent. Infact 4-3 teams like the chiefs and texans are the teams that have given up the big plays in the wildcat since we showed it in NE. With our offense becoming more successful and finding a rhythm we've probably had less of a need for the wildcat. Even if there are wrinkles i don't think we'll see them unless we are trailing this week. They probably prefer to save them for the playoffs.
