All changes start at the top of the organization. Stephen Ross has rubber stamped the current changes making all the right statements. He wants a winner, to build the right way, even if it means struggling initially. But how patient will he really be?
Once reality sets in, and Miami goes something like 2-14 and season ticket holders are upset, will Ross stick with it. Even if the Dolphins are able to get Tua, it's going to take a few years just to build the offensive line. If in year two, with Tua, Miami goes 4-12 or 5-11 will Ross start looking at the next "shiny and new?" Will he start making overtures to Jim Harbaugh and go big-game hunting? Tua, or any young quarterback will figure to have huge growing pains with the offensive line rebuild.
I don't know how patient Ross will be. He was certainly patient with Joe Philibin. He finally recognized that Tannebaum wasn't the right answer. How much rope will he give Flores and Grier?
