How presnap misdirection is letting Tua thread tight windows in the middle of the field.

I still remember that first pass they described in that video. The D was so confused by the play that Fins had three receivers that were really wide open. Great play design.
That's where McDaniel is making his biggest impact IMO. I also think the team is matching his personality and playing confident and loose.

In the second half, I want to see improvement in some aspects though. Specifically, getting plays in a little faster, clock management and eliminating dumb penalties. I think that's mostly on the coaching staff.

If McDaniel gets better at those details, that just increases Miami's chances against the best teams.

These NFL defenses are too smart and too atheletic to show them one look and just snap the ball.

You gotta create as much "little" advantages as you can and using these shifts to get even the smallest leverage is enough to have an edge in the NFL.

Absolutely crazy stuff!

No doubt! I am still amazed at how Tua does it. In addition to what you said about the defense, there is so much that goes into it such as the depth and trajectory of the throws, tight fast-moving windows there one second gone the next, and using throwing angles that are advantageous to the WR, etc. And it all happening in just seconds as grown men are fighting to take your head off. I wish they would put a GO CAM on Tua's helmet at eye level so we could see and experience what he goes through.

Makes you wonder where his stats would be without the 3 missed games? As far as the team we’d be at worst 1 game better out of the 3 straight losses.

Yeah, I think Miami wins at least the Jets and Vikings games and probably the Cincinnati game too.

No other QB is playing like Tua.

Yeah no QB has been top 5 in both average intended air yards and time to throw ever since they started tracking that stuff back in 2016... Only 3 QBs came close, Carson Palmer(87 rating) and Ryan Fitzpatrick(69 rating) in 2016 and Tom Brady(102 rating) in 2020.

Tua this season. Tied for 3rd in time to throw and 5th in average intended air yards with a rating of 112. Easy game!

Those throws always make me a little queasy. If Tua is off a little or if the receiver brick hands it it'll probably be an easy pick.
Watching Tua so far this year, I have a lot less queasiness when we run a pass play....in fact, every time we run a pass play I think it might go for a TD. Amazing what a difference a coaching change and a confident Tua can make!!

Can’t help but also think it’s the speed, separation factor too. When Parker was here you knew the defender was in his pocket and Tua had to be absolutely perfect and Parker etc had to make a tight catch. Now when he throws you know there’s very likely to be some separation yards. Which provides some cushion for either Qb or Wr being off a little.
