I don't know if this is allowed in the CBA, but if it is, Nick Saban needs to start levying some serious fines for players who get flagged for the "unsportsmanlike conduct" penalties. I'd go as half as half a game check. Hit Randy's wallet for about $13,000 and I suspect the post-catch theatrics will be toned down a bit. The next time Sam goes extracurricular on a receiver and gets a check $85,000 less than he expected will be the last time Sam goes extracurricular.

I think he also ought to bench guys who continue to commit pre-snap penalties. Put 'em in uniform but let them stand on the sideline next to coach for at least the first quarter.

You aren't allowed to do that. Fines can be levied by the team for personal team-related misconduct but that pretty much only covers attendance and arguments, violence, things lika that.

RUN

Except I think the players union might file a grievance. But I like the idea. For every yard in pre-snap or unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, that's how many gassers you have to run at the end of practice for the next week.

saban should put a wooden paddle in his office hanging on the wall behind his head. worked for me in elementary school!

You cant fine players for penalties anymore. You would have NFLPA filing grievances.

What you can do is have the team leaders establish a fining system the proceeds of which could go to a charity.

RUN

I am an advocate of this one. Saban gives a 24 rule to everyone after a game. I think every player that committed an unprovoked or dead ball penalty should run full pads wind sprints prior to the first practice. If you commit the same penalty twice during a game, or the same penalty in back to back weeks, you can run wind sprints before every practice leading into the next game.

My idea is where u start from the goaline and run to the 10, come back to the goaline and run to the 20, run back to the goaline and back to the 30, so on and so on until you run the full 100 yards. Suicides I think they're called.

But what you do is you have the entire team run not the the player who committed the infaction
this way it angers the guys who didn't screw up and then they'll put the pressure on the ones who continue to screw up to get their act straight. It should work.
