...alright tell me if im wrong but i have this group barring any additions in the draft...

heres how i see the starters...

corners- poole, allen
extras- goodman, hill...

safeties- cooper, daniels...
extra- bell

this is with, poole lining up at corner, and daniels sliding into safety...is this a fair assumption???? it does appear like a DB will be picked, to bolster this group...

Hill will most likely start at FS.

I think Renaldo Hill was brought here to start at safety. He, Deke Cooper, Yerimiah Bell, and Tavares Tillman should compete for those spots (my guess is Cooper and Hill win the jobs), while Will Allen, Will Poole, Travis Daniels, and Andre' Goodman compete for the cornerback spots (with Allen and either Poole or Daniels as starters).

That is, of course, barring the drafting of another player or the signing of an unexpected free agent...

What about Shirdonya Mitchell? He will be in the mix at dime or nickel corner. Also, although Daniels could be an excellent safety, he had a great year as a rookie corner. If ain't broke, don't fix it......

Everyone assumes that Will Allen is a lock and that Daniels and Poole will compete for the other spot.
If Poole is ready to go I think he's a lock and Daniels and Allen compete for the other spot.

The secondary is gonna feature the most interesting camp battles. I think Allen is a solid starter while Goodman/Daniels/Poole battle for the other spot. Its gonna be a tough battle but no matter who wins I think we will be in good shape. Hill will probably be at safety and the other safety spot will be battled out by Deke Cooper and Tillman unless we draft a DB and he comes in to compete.

Allen was brought in to start. Daniels is a perfect nickle safety, the question is can Poole be an effective starter. Allen is not a great corner, he is adequate, but gave up the house in NY. I think we need a stud corner, I just dont see us getting it. Our secondary is no better than it was last year.

Everyone is saying our secondary is bad, but I like the players we have in place right now...If everyone can stay healthy....I dont really know if I want to go that route in the draft, unless by some miracle Huff lands in our lap...

Doesn't matter what he was brought here for. If he's not one of the top 2 CB's then he becomes a backup.
Will Poole already was an effective starter at USC (one of the best in the country) and he looked pretty darned good his rookie season when he started a few games.
Will Poole is significantly better than adequate. Why don't you pop in a tape from the 2004 season and look at Poole again?
BTW nickle is spelled nickel.

Are you an English teacher - give me a break and grow up a little.

Poole was a good nickEL back, not a starter. He is far from proven, especially coming off a knee injury. We have a long way to go still with our secondary.

A little thin skinned aren't you? You make an uninformed post and get upset when someone criticizes you for it without calling you names and using profanity.
Perhaps it is you who must grow up.

Poole is a playmaker. Madison said it on 790 TheTicket a few weeks ago. He said Poole will be a good player for us and he can tackle. I cant wait to see his return. Will be like getting a new player.

Front 7

When your front seven gets it done like it's supposed to get done..
(Especially if we get Arrington..)

Then our secondary will be seriously improved.. Corners and Safeties are only as good as the pass rush up front..

Believe that!

i dont think that ones too acurate. i see it more like this:

corner:camp battle between poole and daniels. my predicted winner:poole
corner:allen
free safety:hill
strong safety:camp battle between cooper and bell.my predicted winner:bell
backup corners:goodman and daniels
backup safeties:tillman and cooper

but i do see alot of substitutions and rotating in and out players who arnt so hot in a particular game all year long.
