This is my first ever post and even though I've been following the Dolphins for 4 years, only during the last 12 months have I actually got right into them. I'm also from Guernsey in the Channel Islands so I'm not American, but I was conceived in America and I love the country too!

Bear with me this may be really obvious!

I was just thinking how much the Dolphins have changed in under 6 months of the Trifecta (as Omar from Sun-Sentinel calls them) taking over our franchise. We have had to endure many years of rubbish from various head coaches and GM's and finally I certainly feel safe in their hands!

I was looking at some areas of our team and thinking how much things have changed in such a short period. Here it goes:

Let's start on offense:

2007 starting Team:

OL was: Carey - Liwienski - Satele - Hadnot - Shelton

OL now is: Long - Mormino (Draft Pick) - Satele - Smiley - Carey

(Long - best player in draft, Draft pick - better than Liwienski, Satele - only going to get better after a great rookie season, Smiley - great at making holes and possible pro bowler, Carey - great on the right and could be best in the league)

Even without pro bowl selections, if they happen or not, we have a far superior OL than last season. Shelton at RT, man have we come a long way!

2007 Offense:

QB - Green
RB - Brown
RB - Williams
RB - Booker
FB - Mauia
WR - Ginn
WR - Hagan
WR - Booker

2008 Offense:

QB - Beck
RB - Brown
RB - Williams
RB - Booker
FB - Mauia
WR - Wilford
WR - Ginn
WR - Hagan

Not much change there apart from Beck coming and proving all his doubters wrong and the possibility of Reagan getting cut and maybe drafting Hester?

All in all the playmakers are similar (I love Ernest's height) but we have got younger and also with everyone fit we have the potential (altough Ronnie was great last season).

I'll post something similar on the defense later on, but already without the draft we look so much stronger on the offense. It can only get better and I can't wait for the arrival of the scummy jets.

No doubt about, we're putting a very different team on the field. Best of all, even the green rookies from last year like Ginn, Beck, and Satale have real game experience. If we go 1-15 like last year (barring any MAJOR changes AGAIN which outside experts seem to ignore), I'll become a Patsy fan. 1-15 is just not gonna happen. This team will be a lot better next year.

Even if we go 1-15 again, i'm still gonna be a dolphan.

Welcome to Finheaven. I agree. We have made some significant improvements on the o-line already. At least we have a positive outlook on the upcoming season. Hopefully the draft will bring us several more things (players) to be excited about in 08. Oh yeah, and that was a very good first post.

Wow. That's absolutely insane. That's way too much turnover in a 4 year timespan. That's almost like a fast-food restaurant.

I agree. The Oline is going to be a huge difference. I think a 3 or 4 win difference.

i think at least 5 win diff b/c we only play 4 games vs playoff teams this year and 2 are the Pats from what i heard on ESPN i haven't checked it out myself yet but im sure it is close to accurate at the least.

either way we should be able to run it down throats of ppl..

Especially with carey at LG. Rem, parcells said Faneca would have helped Dbrick tremendously last year (he told jets coach) but he ended up not being a fA instead he was this year. then Thomas was helped tremendously at CLE b/c of Steinbach at G another very good G. now carey at G would be a PB calibur G a lot faster then a Tackle and reports are the team last yera realized Carey is a G and not a T. Put carey to help long at Left side and u have a side POSSIBLY as good as minny's left side.

Yea, but look how far we've come!

Your in for a treat, wait till we get back to our usual good old days. We are spoiled and not use to losing. Parcells will get this turned around and get us going in the right direction.

Welcome, Good Post! The OL has gotten better on paper....we'll see. We lost several games by 3 points or less last year and I think the improvement in the OL is good for wins in most of those losses. As Shoes said, we can only get better. I like our new direction!

Welcome aboard. Good post!

You're right... O-line should be HUGE this year. Look at what Ronnie was able to do last year with what we had. I'm thinking also that we're going to get a WR on day one and it should be Wilford, Ginn, Draft Pick. If we manage to nab an OG also, we should be set on offense, especially with the TE aquisition from the 'boys.
