Chris Collinsworth came up with a great plan on inside the nfl on how to play defense against the Pats. In case you missed it, the bullet points are

  • Always rush 5 against Brady, to force him to make quick decisions
  • Jam Moss at the line, and play outside technique on him to force him to run his routes inside. Also hammer him whenever he catches the ball to effectively take him out of the game
  • Defend against the screen
On offense, I think the winning game plan would be to play the whole game in the hurry up offense.
The Pats defense is deep, but it's old. If you play hurry-up the whole game you may not chew up as much clock as you'd like, but you'll prevent the Pats from making substitutions and force their very old linebacking corps to try and tackle that beast Jacobs, and cover your slot receivers and tight ends without getting any rest.

IMO playing the hurry up offense and implementing Collinsworth's plan on defense is how the Giants can win tonight and keep the Dolphins record of the only undefeated season in history intact.

so there is a first for everything

defnitely gotta keep the pats offense off the field...by running the ball... giants have a great offensive line, they GOTTA get to the Patriots Line Backers too run.

defensively I would blitz the patriots Right side of the line all game, blitz, stunt, delay... anything...... gotta put pressure on Brady, and gotta hold WR's man-to-man for 4-5 seconds.....

i pumped for this game!!! be close and exciting is all i ask

Well on week 16 they did not have their right gaurd and right tackle and kyle brady the 300 lb blocking TE on the right side.they instead had a backup gaurd/center , a rookie right tackle and spook a te who was picked up from the street.

hope they do it. im not gonna watch this one. just hope to wake up with good news on the tube. god i hate the pats

The one way to beat the Pats is to cause Brady to play erractically; we all know it's possible we've done it before. HIT Tom Brady and make him throw when he doesn't want to. The Giants have a hungry defense and we ALL know DEFENSE wins championships.

i did not know that for that game.

i jsut wouldnt attack their strength to the left, jsut try to contain it against the run... need to put pressure on

Blitz Brady, Jam the receivers off the line, especially Welker. Control the clock. And what the heck, throw some trick plays on offense here and there.

and hopefully they left their kicker at home. It should be 4 down territory as soon as they cross the 35. NO field goals. If they kick a FG before the 4th quarter they will lose.

I think the Giants need to stay in Bradys face all game long,do not allow him to get in his comfort zone, jam his receivers at the line and keep the Pats offense off the field as much as possible. all in all,the Giants need to be clicking on all cylinders on both sides of the ball like a well oiled machine and play as much mistake free ball as possible. oh,and for petes sake Eli,DO NOT throw any interceptions.

That really could work.

I've always said on offense they need to make the NE LBs run all over. Start a run going to the wide right. newxt wide left. Throw in a reverse. Play hurry up. Seau and Co will be too tired to continue after the third quarter.

I might save the part about the no-huddle for the 3rd quarter. Even if you have to abandon it after a drive or two, you might force the Pats to burn a timeout or two, that, good Lord willing, they might need in the 4th quarter.

If you use it in the first half, they will have a chance to regroup, and you've sprung the surprise too soon.

I think if you get pressure on Brady you have a shot...if you don't you will lose.
