Chris Collinsworth came up with a great plan on inside the nfl on how to play defense against the Pats. In case you missed it, the bullet points are
The Pats defense is deep, but it's old. If you play hurry-up the whole game you may not chew up as much clock as you'd like, but you'll prevent the Pats from making substitutions and force their very old linebacking corps to try and tackle that beast Jacobs, and cover your slot receivers and tight ends without getting any rest.
IMO playing the hurry up offense and implementing Collinsworth's plan on defense is how the Giants can win tonight and keep the Dolphins record of the only undefeated season in history intact.
- Always rush 5 against Brady, to force him to make quick decisions
- Jam Moss at the line, and play outside technique on him to force him to run his routes inside. Also hammer him whenever he catches the ball to effectively take him out of the game
- Defend against the screen
