Just popped over to nfl.com to vote for Danny and see he only has 28% of the votes ans Montana 72% what the hell ! This is best ever QB not most successful qb ! I couldn't believe the gap on votes was so big. The best qb ever breaks the most records not wins the most rings and no qb broke records that stood longer than marino?
 
Because Marino has no super bowls dude, I mean we know Marino is better, but sadly the greatest qbs will always be looked at if they won a super bowl or not. And maybe rightfully so.

Simple: Montana had better run game, better receivers, better defense and a much better GM which consistently provided talent around Joe every single year unlike Dan! Dan is a far better QB but unfortunately QB's and head coaches are judged by Super Bowls! Why aren't other positions judged by Super Bowls? Hippo critical BS, hands down the greatest passer to play the game, would throw for 7500 yards and 70 TD's in today's game Dan "the man" Marino!
 
No ring. Thee sad truth about life is that to some Dan Marino isn't a winner simply because he didn't win a Super Bowl.

because somehow qb's are ignorantly judged on superbowl wins. In the end its an opinion so othing to get worked up on
 
It is WAY too early for me to read about someone being a critical Hippo.
 
I have no problem with the voting. I've seen both play and if they were asking for the best passer than of course Marino. Best QB head to head.....I'd take Montana over Marino too. Now to me a bigger question. Montana or Griese? Griese was the proto-type field general. Called his own plays (as did all in that era). Montana didn't. So can a QB be the greatest if he doesn't call his own plays? Best all around QB ever imo, Unitas.
 
When they played each other on the biggest stage, Montana won by a lot.
 
Honestly, i was shocked Marino beat Elway. Not because he wasn't better, but you know..
 
The same way Gannon beat Favre, and Wilson beat Manning....
One thing I've learned is that people are retarded.
 
Lets not forget that if Marino had the talent Montana had he would have won 8 superbowls. Montana was ok, but lets see him play with the talent that Marino had. Guarantee he would have 0 superbowls. Fact is, Montana was good, but Marino was great. Montana was a product of the system, Marino was a system. In my book, you cannot compare the two. Superbowls are won by teams, not individuals.
 
in sb 19 you can say montana crushed marino, that is until you actually watch the game. marino was under heavy, heavy pressure from the san fran d-line AND they did it without blitzing. those 49er teams of the 80's were probably some of the best teams in nfl history, there was that much talent on both sides of the ball. marino basically had no running game and a bad defense his whole career. i actually think hes underrated for what he accomplished with the dolphins.
