It is not unheard of for teams to turn their fates around in one year. Last year, the Carolina Panthers went 7-8-1 and this year they completely turned their fortunes around and went 15-1 and are playing in the Super Bowl. The Dolphins are completely capable of making the post-season next year; they just need to address a few positions. It is not unheard of for teams to turn their fates around in one year. 1-The first facet of the team that needs to be looked at is the pass protection of Ryan Tannehill. In the four years he has been in the league, he has been sacked an average of 46 times in addition to being hit an about 92 times per season. They absolutely must protect their franchise player in order to keep him healthy. Another position that would benefit from a tighter offensive line would be the running backs.
2-On the defensive side of the ball, they need help with the pass rush and the cornerback position. Their line was ranked 26th in the league with 31 sacks last season, 20 of which were divided among three players. The leader of the Dolphins’ defensive line, Ndamukong Suh, requires to two men guard him, Miami needs to use this to allow for players around Suh to emerge. This would normally mean great news for other defensive ends like Derrick Shelby or Olivier Vernon however; both their contracts expired last season. There does not seem to be a lot of optimism for both players to return so if given a choice, Vernon would win. This move would eat up most of the remaining salary cap but it will be well worth it.
3-The last area if the team that really needs help is the cornerback position. Brent Grimes and Brice McCain have been decent but they are desperate for help. If they could acquire Josh Robinson from the Minnesota Vikings, that would be a big help. He is fast and able to provide depth for more squad rotations. His price tag is not too expensive and he is a reasonable player for the team.
HERE'S TO A BETTER 2016 PHINS UP!!
