It is funny how our fortunes have changed in just a little over a week. I was on board with Fisher as long as he was not given full-control, however I was honestly a little concerned due to his record with Tennessee. He used the Dolphins like a cheap prostitute and we were again the laughing stock of the media and the league.

Now....

Joe Philbin is our head coach, and I must say from listening to him and watching how he carries himself, my initial impressions leave me very impressed. Then he gets his OC in Mike Sherman, who I personally think is a top notch hire. What he can bring to the Dolphins is huge. I'll admit I don't know much about Coyle, but from what I have heard and read it is fairly easy to see why the odds of his hire being a good one is relatively high.

Heck, even Jeff Ireland has looked and sounded impressive the last few days. I know the proof will be in wins and losses, but right now the Dolphins team and administration has the "right" gut-level feel to it, that everything is coming together and the pieces are fitting perfectly into the puzzle of what we need. I don't know how to explain it, but something this time just feels "different". A quiet, calming, confidence I guess I will call it.

All I know is, that for me right now:

Ireland, Philbin, Sherman, and Coyle

sounds a hell of a lot better than

?????, Fisher, Schottenheimer, Williams

and I think it is by a wide margin.

Time will tell and we will see, but I honestly do not think it is homerism at it's finest to be excited about the direction of our team right now.

If they start out 0-5 or 1-4 next year, all these good vibes will vanish quickly. Lets just hope they have a fast start.

Agreed. We need to come out of the gates strong next season. We can't afford the slow starts and the poor home record.

let's hope they have a fast start, but let's not forget Sparano was able to go 11-5 a season after 1-15, and it took 3 years after that to wear off for some people.
