1) Have a WR who can run very fast and catch well. They won't be able to cover him the whole game. Steve Smith. Joey Galloway.

2) Have a DE who can rush the passer very well. They won't be able to block him the whole game. John Abraham. Simeon Rice.

3) Double-cover Randy McMichael -- he disappears when you do that.

4) Cover the short pass routes and give up the long ones -- they won't hit the long ones consistently.

5) Defend the running game and the short passing game overall -- the long passing game isn't there for them.

If I'm an NFL team, this is how I'm gameplanning for us, which means we need:

1) a CB

2) a LT

3) a true #1 WR (can't double McMike with a true #1 on the field)

4) a QB

5) numbers 3 and 4

Gonna be a while fellas. Those are all tough positions to fill.

Bump (ain't gonna spend all that time and let it sit).

buddy, you are right.

I have said this over and over again. But the speed receiver is tough. The guy doesn't even have to be good. Just fast. I think Donte Stallworth is going to rip us up when we play New Orleans. Not because he is exceptionally good but because he is fast.

Crowd the line. This defends the run and the short passes. Perfect because Gus cant hit a wideopen deep ball.

hopefully we can improve. I just dont understand how we beat denver and carolina and play like this. It doesnt make sense to me.

Good breakdown.. you are right for the most part. Shut down the run and this team is toast.

Very good read. I've been saying for the last two weeks that teams are figuring out how to play us. That's why I didnt put much credence in the denver victory, no game film for shanahan( not to mention the entire defense was dropping like flies from the heat)

Well when you have 4 or 5 ways of beating a team, that's gonna be true for the better teams in the league.
