How to make the Jets Defense settle down and show their hand...

Go on quick snap counts...

Quote from Phil Sims from the Baltimore New England Game against the Raven defense which is the same as the Jet defense...

"Tom Brady’s snap counts...By going on so many quick counts. Going over there and getting set and going with the football. It settles the Ravens defense down. Now they are not going to walk around, and try to confuse the quarterback, or the receivers with the different looks. Or who's trying to pick up what Blitzer."

It worked to perfection. The Raven defense was late all game, and the patsies were able to run on them for first downs and TD's...

Something maybe Miami could use against the Jet defense to help the New QB.

Just a thought.

NE tried that against us in week 2...it didn't work.

This is a very good idea. It seems the longer the offense is at the line the better position the Ravens defense is in. The do seem to struggle a bit when you hurry up , quick snap and go 5 wide. The 5 wide spreads the field a little making them show their hand. The Steelers (as an example) seem to have more success spreading the field then the do trying to play power football against them.

It will work LOL

I definitely like the thinking, I thought we'd get hurt by it but it didn't work in week 2. That doesn't mean it will never work but it can't be a bad idea to have a quick tempo and tire out jenkins.

I guess nothing will work against this unbeatable jets D, so it's up to the Fins D to do what the Saints did.
Did you see Sanchez play last Sunday, aren't you a little concerned about your O and the quality of the Fins D?

Concerned? not yet, as of now it's one bad game against a touhg D in a hostile environment. The last time he struggled like that was against Bal in preseason and he bounced back to play well against the Giants the next week. he's had some poor plays that could get other rooks down earlier in the year but he's always bounced back. if he plays like he did last week this week then I'll become concerned.

Your D is average, not close to NO. I'm not worried about your D.

The Pats ran a no huddle against the Jets...But they didn't have quick snap counts.

There is a big difference. Phil Simms is correct.

True but they preveneted us from substituting but it didn't slow us down.

So I guess it's all done, the Fins will collapse against the rook QB we shouldn't show up.
I don't buy the hype I understand it's a NY team, but the only real team you played against you got blown out. beat the Titans 0/4 and the Pats second game for Tom after a year lay off.
I don't worry about your O because they haven't done a thing so far.

Funny how everybody throws out the New England win as if they are not a real team.

miami needs to call the play in the huddle, get to the line of scrimmage and snap the ball. don't get cute with audibles. unless there is a glaring mismatch or henne knows for sure they have the wrong play called, just get up there and snap the ball. stay huddled as long as you need, but when you break, get up to the line and execute the play quickly.

the offense needs to dictate to the defense, not the other way around. people get too caught up in blitz protections and blocking schemes and they take themselves out of their normal play calling.
