Hello,

I really think we need to erase our LB woes but, I think too that need to be made without spending too much of cap space in this position corp because we will need to spend at other position of need.

So, my idea is to sign a veteran serviceable Thumper to play MLB and to use 2 sppedy LB to cover our Wide.

In this order to thinking I would sign Japer Brinckley to play MLB ( he has not speed but when he caught you.......you can't escape) and I will sign Jaylon Smith or Myles Jack (after a trade down), in this case we sign Brinckley without breaking the bank and either ack and Jaylon won't be too much with rooking scale deal and their injury.

After that, a trio of Jenkins, Brinckey and Smith or Jack would'nt be too bad IMo and I could resign Misi to compete with them and Hewitt + Vigil too.

With the cash saved we could sign Miller or resign OV and Wake.

Opinions ?

Thanks for the post! Hope is well over in France.

Not sure we should limit ourselves to just a thumper at MLB. I also think Myles Jack can be a Mike backer if needed. Not sure if either Jack or Jaylon would fit well as a strong side linebacker. I'm actually about to make a thread on some cost-effective options at various positions, so I'll link that here when finished and you can compare. Cheers!

No...no ****ing "thumpers" anymore. This isn't 1970. This is the modern game. You need fast linebackers...ones that can cover. Not a damn "thumper"!

If we were to draft Jaylon and if he can recover fully he would end all our issues at the Mike. Myles would be great for the LB core too but he would be misused as a Mike imo.

pass on Brinkley and pass on myles jack or jaylon smith at mike
We need a good Mike LB (we also need to draft CBs). I respect your opinion. Why don't you like Jaylon Smith and Myles Jack? Have you formed an opinion who we should be targeting at Mike?

He thinks Myles Jack will get lost in the shuffle on the inside, but he has consistently shown the instincts to be around the ball and he's probably the best overall athlete in this year's draft. No reason to be he can't play on the inside.

Myles Jack is a freak. He has good instincts too.

I'd love him. Even at 8.

don't ever speak for me

Brinkley looked terrible in preseason for the Cowboys. Like a 3rd stringer at best.

Wouldn't be an upgrade over Sheppard.

Plenty of mid tier stop gap options out there. I'd love to sign Derrick Johnson but doubt that happens. There's a fair amount of guys who shouldn't break the bank but would also be an improvement over what we had
