How was Jake Long?

I would really like to hear from someone who was watching the game about how Jake Long looked. Did he contain his man in pash rushing? Did he open any running holes? Everyone is talking about QBs, but we really need Jake Long to pan out as the the number one overall pick!

He was very solid. When Beck got hit and fumbled it wasn't Long's fault, it was the guards fault clearly.

Long got the best of the people he played against, pushing some people around.

I heard( didn't see) long allowed a sack- a miscommunication. According to the announcers: Smiley moved to help Satelee and Long should have picked up the gap. Defender went unabated to the QB- I think Beck.

He did great. I watched. The only bad thing I saw was that a defender flew around him (didn't get to qb), and the very next play he jumped the snap (false start) to make sure it didn't happen again.

Jake had a GREAT first showing tonight!! He allowed ZERO penetration and even made an extra push against a defender that was trying to deflect a pass long after he backed of off contact... He made one rookie penalty mistake, but if he learns from those now and not when it counts, we are in AWESOME shape on left tackle!!

We have the highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL playing for us. I hope our #1 overall pick is looking pretty good. I want him to be the SMARTEST Olineman that the Dolphins have ever had. I want to see him being a badazz in the trenches too ... pancaking some dudes whenever he can. I want to see him be super quick like karate guy Bruce Lee with those speed rushers. I want to see him have quicker feet than Jason Taylor in Dancing with the Stars. :)
