1. Win the rest of our home games gets us to 8
2. Tampa game is like half a home game gets us to 9
3. Win one of the away games between Pitts, NYJ or Buffalo

Doesn't seem like a daunting task to me but we NEED to get the ball rolling on Thursday.

I think 8 or 9 wins could secure a wild card. I'm not sure we could get 10 wins though, even with a little luck. I think with our schedule, and if McKinnie pans out, and no more major injuries, and with a little luck, we might finish 6-3....but that's asking a lot imo

8 or 9 wins will absolutely not '"secure" a wild card this season, in this AFC. Only route to the playoffs for the Dolphins is to win the division outright (lol), or win 10 games at season's end. I obviously, along with most, don't see either playing into fruition.

Nine might have been good enough for us if we had beaten the Ravens but its highly unlikely now. The Ravens still might get in with 9.

(2) 5 and 11 seasons.

Call me crazy but I'm done with having high expectations for this team. It only leads to letdown and more frustration. I like your optimism, but don't count on it. Home games for us aren't even home games. The team actually may play better on the road.

Even of we did get to ten wins it will likely not be enough to reach the playoffs. It's a moot point anyway though since this team will not get close to 10 wins.

Win all the rest of our home games? Not sure if you've noticed, but we're ESPECIALLY BAD at home the last few years.

Don't get your hopes up. That way they don't get dashed to pieces.

For us to get in with 8 wins will require just about all of the following:
San Diego finishing 3-6
Jets finishing 3-5
Tennessee finishing 4-5
Baltimore finishing 4-5
Oakland finishing 4-5
Cleveland finishing 4-4
Buffalo finishing 4-4

If any of those teams wins just one more game than what I listed, we'd need to own the tiebreaker.
I don't see this as a likely scenario.
