this is no reason to post a thread like this, and then say "I think he'll look like crap". Its posts like these that cause trouble, and you know it

nah man the vote is legit. it's just my opinion that gus will not look good tonight and i need this post for the record. either way. if he looks good tonight i'll eat my words. admit i was wrong and say ok gus is they guy let's do this. if he doesn't, i'll keep bitching that he's a 75 rated qb and will always play like that, and we need to get someone else in there that is already on our team. i am not for bringing another qb in right now.

I think that Gus Frerotte will have an average to good performance tonight and I feel that tonight's game is going to be our all around best preseason performance, especially from the offense. I expect us to finally get a rushing game going and I don't expect even 1/4 as many turnovers as we had last week against Pittsburgh. I'm honestly going to say that Gus will have no turnovers and the offense will only have 1 total. I don't expect Gus to put up "great" numbers but I expect him to have a great performance by making good decisions and not forcing any turnovers. I also expect our D to be exceptional again TB tonight and I can't wait until the game!

Holy Moly..... i didnt realize this was another QB competition thread.... i think BOTH QB will look average.... it the INTAGABLES.. that will make... that have made... a difference.

Cripes people.. we have beaten each other over the head with this discussion. Whether we like who gets chosen.. lets jusr support the QB who the coaching staff feel best about.. because lets admit it... we're not going to lose our jobs if we're wrong!
GO PHINS!

I think Gus will look average.

And for the record I have never been off of the Feeley bandwagon. I still think the only thing between Feeley and being a good starter is game experience.

He will look GREAT.

Negative thinking never got anyone any where.

and some of you geniuses wonder why there are so many anti-Feeley posts on this board :shakeno:

I have to admit I hate the anti biased comments on both sides.

I think Frerotte will be fine. He will be average like always.

Feeley will shine but I dunno if it will be enough to unseat Frerotte.

I am not expecting Frerotte to stink, but I am also not expecting him to be lights out.

He is basically just average. It is really pick your poison. Go with the mediocre QB who does nothing special or go with the QB who when on is accurate and makes awesome throws, but when he isn't on man oh man does he look bad.

i think with Ricky and Ronnie both in the backfield:eek: Gus will see a lot of 8 men fronts, therefore opening up a lot of passing lanes. 65% 1 td 0 interceptions, and three scoring drives.:D

No, it's posts like #4 that cause trouble....no one forced you to chime in, if you don't like the topic, then move on but no, you have to give your sarcastic name calling comment and then you turn around and have the audacity to say that someone else's posts are the problem.

People who live in glass houses.....

I think Frerotte plays like crap and Feeley will come in and play average. I really can't see one of them stepping up and distancing himself from the other guy. After tonight, I believe there will be as much controversy as ever.

There will be no controversy in that scenario.

I think it is alot simpler then people make it out to be.

If Frerotte stinks Feeley will be the starter

If Frerotte plays average or better he will be the starter.

I really don't think at this point Feeley has any impact on the outcome.

Only reason I say that is because I don't think he ever has had an impact. I mean come on, he has only had 7 pass attempts with the 1st stringers. You cannot truly evaluate him one way good or bad when he is playing with guys who will most likely not be on the team.

Basically Frerotte will either make or break his chances at starter tonight.

As much as it would help quiet this board for it to go either of the other ways, I think Gus will look average *because* that's what he is. I fully expect the partisans to bicker back and forth arguing over who had the better game tonight because neither guy can really distance himself far enough from the other to swing people.
