Titans just ran all over us. Chris Brown has 100 on 16 at the half. I also know that we had a top 5 run D last yr. One of our DTs was out as well.

Jets shutdown Rudi for the most part. He only scored cause they were extremely close and shell shocked after the fumble, they also forced him to fumble finishing with 70yrds on 20 someodd carries. His fumble led to 7 and they only lost by 7

Point is, I'm not worried about Carson and the passing game if we can shutdown Rudi, we got the best secondary in the NFL IMO. I hope the run D can open up a can...

My guess is....
With Tim Bownes helathy- 60 yds.
Without Tim Bowens-100 yds.

Something along those lines.

Rudi should have a bounce back game, 105 yards if Bowens plays.

If he doesnt, you dont want to know

if t-bo is back they will shut him down, not only will he be a big improvement but we will be focusing on shutting the run down especially after that performance adn on national tv, we will be out to prove something. Anyone know whats the deal with Surtain and why he didnt play that much?

so were talkin' 50yrds +/-??

doesnt sound like bowens will play

If the team is without Bowens and new guy isn't a big factor (what is his name again?), then I think we're probably talking 120. I really hope that the secondary can shut everybody but Johnson down (there is no shutting him down) so the Dolphins can hold the Bengals to under 300 yards total offense. With +1 or +2 net turnovers, I think this should be a very winnable game.

Whats up with Pat Surtain ???

I'm going to predict old school Saturday Night Live style.
With Timbo - negative 25 yards
Without Timbo - negative 5 yards

if bowens dosen't play this sunday night what about switching to a 3-4 defense and get some use out of our 7-8 linebackers we have on the roster, that could proably do just as good as they did against tenn.

Unless you know something about this team practicing extensively in the 3-4 that I don't, I can't believe this is any sort of possibility.

I have to admit that I wonder if that might be a part of RS's plan for the future, though.

it was just a thought because without bowens in there sunday night we are in some big trouble with our run D.

I do appreciate the thinking outside the box. I wouldn't be shocked to see the team move toward a bit more of it if Bowens is out for a long time. I just don't think it's something that could come into effect on any sort of large scale in just a week.

Well if not a 3-4, we could at least attempt a 4-4 formation from time to time. Get one extra line backer in there to cover a gap assignment. Might help if we don't have TimBo to take two linemen on like he usually can.

The only problem with this, is that Knight would have his hands full trying to help either Madison or Sutain deep with Chad, as he would be the only safety on the field.

But if it's a running situation, then it could work... provided they don't exploit it.

Also as a note, I would probably use Bua as the 4th LB'er... he has much better cover skills than anyone esle we have at that position. He also has experience from being a safety.(I hope I'm not confusing him with someone else.)
