How will Rudi do against our run D??

I really don't know that you want to go against those Bengals receivers with just 3 DBs a whole lot, but that may be something to consider.

Another problem with the 3-4 for this team this year is that Bowens is probably the guy who would work best as a NT. I don't know that any of the healthy guys could really serve that purpose.

knight isn't that good to be able to handle all that responsibility by himself, especially against cincy explosive offense. are safties are going to have their hands full all night so our front seven are going to have to control the run all night but they should be able to contain them so they should keep those safties back so we don't get burned on a deep one. gamebreakers are the killer... being from south jersey, just look at the eagles they give up all sorts of rushings yards and limit the passing and they seem to win all the time....

Yeah, that's why I stated that as one of my concerns. I think it would work out okay if Chad is on Surtains side(and surtain is healthy). Knight would be able to help deep for Madison on Peter. But if Surtain was to lose a step we'd be in trouble unless the pass rush gets to Palmer in time.

I also don't want this being our base defense, it would be situational at best until TimBo is healthy. I was just trying to think of ways we could contain Rudi and not miss a step with Bowens out.

Rudi Johnson is a good back, to predict him having 100 yards is peanuts. I didnt say he'd run 10 times to get it, in fact I think it'd be more like 25. Your team is not the be all end all you think it is

I think we are overreated yet again. No 100 yard rusher in 18 staright games we give up one, after a preseason in which the defensive starters hardly played, and suddenly the run defense is a sieve. Both long runs vs the Titans are correctable and will be corrected. With or without Timbo the whole team will play better this week.

Someone mentioned Knight earlier in the post and I've got to tell you he has to be as slow as molases as Antowain Smith was able to turn the corner on him on his long run. Sometimes I wonder if Wanny should go with Edwards and Freeman to have more speed back there.

It's a realistic prediction no doubt but you need to understand that virtually the same defense went 18 straight games or so without giving up a 100 yard rusher. Now that they gave up one it's hard to just believe that's going to be the rule from now on. Any back that faces Miami will get 100 yards???? I doubt it with or without Timbo.

After all the extra possesions and 3 and outs the titans got and they only produce 10 pts! I think the D is fine but the O will need to keep them off the field a bit longer or they are going to wear down pretty fast.

I agree but it's still 1 out of 19. Miami's run defense could sbsolutely suck in 2004 you never know. I just think it's premature to think they will get run on every week.

OK I just watched the game. Almost all of Tenn run yds came from the left side. If Timbo was there no way Tenn makes that many yds. Zgonia is just small. They were running away from the right side of the line because man Larry Chester was tearing it up.

something to consider here is the offense. will it be able to stay on the field long enough to keep our D on the side lines. now that AJ has been named starter and a full week for gordon should make a difference. only time will tell here but i think it will.

I didn't give up anything,don't come back acting like a Jelous girlfriend just because your D sucks pal, your on the wrong site. Go back to your own site and find some Jet fans that think we are not as good as advertised on D. The one thing this team does have is a D and your weak smack holds no water here. You better pray the fins don't start to mesh and Play well on the O side of the ball because we have the players to start making some noise in this division and with the D this team has all we need is an avg O this team beat your team with nothing more then 1 TE, 1 RB, one WR on O last year and oh yeah one of the worst O lines in the game.
