they have the 2nd biggest star, and probably the best coach in some peoples eyes? how will they do this year?

what do u mean who cares, just say you don't like basketball. cause if you did you would care.

I think the Lakers will considerly better than last year. They will probably make the playoff. It will be interesting this season when they lakers play against the Heat. How will Phil's Lakers try and defend against Flash and Shaq?

The Lakers will not make the playoffs. The rest of the Western Conference is just too good right now. They've got no point guard to speak of, they've got a young power forward whose confidence has been all but shattered, and a center who won't contribute for at least two years. Basically, they've got Kobe, Lamar and not much else. Maybe Kwame Brown just needed a change of scenery, but more likely he needs a brain and heart transplant.

If Kobe is the 2nd, who's the first?

Kobe is the best all-around player in the game.

C-Mihm- Bynum
PF-Kwame - Cook
SF-Odom - Jones
2G-Kobe - George
PG-???

The way it's looking right now Kobe is gonna be running the point because the Lakers have no true PG, though Odom & Kobe will likely split duties of bringing the ball up the court. The only PGs left are Nick Van Exel, Gary Payton, Tyronn Lue, Earl Watson, & possibly Derek Anderson though he's never played PG in college or the pros. I think they should bring back Van Exel to team with Kobe in the back court & that will give them two good shooters & clutch players.

I think that they will improve, but not by much.

Im a Wizards fan and if Kwame Brown helps the Lakers make the playoffs Ill be shocked. He's a complete dud, I am so happy we got Butler for him. More than he was worth.
If Phil can put together a legit contender with this group he is truly the Zen Master. They should be a marginal 7-9-th place team in the West. If they are more then the Zen Master is the best coach in the NBA, and he just might be who knows.
It will interesting to watch the Lakers and the Knicks next season, both have lousy, hole-filled rosters but coaches that always seem to succeed (granted Brown has done it with much less than Phil), should be fun to watch.

I LOVE Basketball...and I could care less.

But if you insist...I say...#8 seed and bounced in 5 games in the first round.

I'll say 35-47...and not making the playoffs again.
