I feel that Marino is the best pure passer to ever play the game, he is my favorite football player to ever play and him and MJ run neck and neck as favorite athletes ever. We all know the big ding on Dan is that he never won a Superbowl, which he recently admitted still nags at him.

So how do you think he would feel if Manning came here and got a ring? How would you feel if you were Dan? I would have mixed emotions and definitely be happy for the franchise, but it would still eat at me a bit. I think Manning already having a ring would lessen it a bit, but still. Also, could their relationship be a reason Manning wouldn't come here?

I know we don't have Manning, so before the Thread Police come out.....this is just for conversation sake.

Probably the same way he feels everytime a HOF QB wins one. I'm sure he's used to it by now. He did what he could, but poor drafting and the ol' boys club killed his chances (Shula sticking with **** coordinators).

Ya, that is tough. To me, Marino is still the face of the Franchise. You still see more Marino jerseys than any other Dolphins jersey. I want Manning here, as I think he makes us an immediate contendor! Although, I could see Dan being mixed on this.

Ya, I hear you....but I think it would be even more so here. We haven't even sniffed a SB since he left and only 1 Dolphins QB has won one....although without Earl the Morrall, we don't win in 1972!

I'm of the hopeful opinion Marino will "re-join" the franchise in some official capacity if we score Manning and make smart moves towards a superbowl. Marino is one of the most competitive NFL players of all time... winning is everything to him. He cant be a part of a losing franchise. If we start looking good, he'll be back. And then he can get his ring after all. :)

His ego may be hurt a bit, but I'd think he'd support him.

Of course he regrets not getting his ring..but Marino is a class act guy..just like Manning. I think it would be a very emotional and awesome thing to watch.
