We're officially in the off season now. A week later than normal for us this year which was a good thing imo. Threads all over the place about free agency and the draft but I haven't seen one that talks about our team unit by unit. It should give us an idea where we need to improve, at least a starting point. I'm pretty sure #1 and last will be very similar for most posters but in between should be fun. Now I see this many units as I want to break it down more. I know sometimes corners and safeties go together and WR's and TE's do too but I'm going to split that so you need to rate them separate. QB,RB,WR,TE,O-line, D-LINE,LBs,Corners and safeties. Here's my list and I'm sticking to it.

1-WR. By far our best unit imo as long as we keep Stills. One of the best set in the NFL
2-RB- Many will not agree but Ajayi is an amazing RB right now and will carry most of the load. Drake can make things happen but needs more chances. D.Williams did some good things this past season and some not so good but at this point he's the 3rd string moving forward imo
3-D-line- Was going to rank them 2nd but really it has been too inconsistent. Suh's a beast but Wake while a great pass rusher can't play the run, Branch was average and JP very inconsistent. We had a great half D-line.
4-QB- Some haters will place this at the bottom which is non sense. Tannehill took a step forward and we're in good hands with him. Moore proved to be a very good back up. Most team will go down in a hurry if they lose their starter but we didn't so our QB is very good
5-Safety- Jones is an all pro and IAQ had a solid year too. Of course they both need to be healthy for any of this to matter but assuming they come back healthy I feel good about the position.
6-O-line. This one is very hard because we don't even know who's coming back or if they're coming back healthy. Sorry but to me they were NOT great this year. Better than before? Sure but that's not saying much. It's BA coming back? Will Pouncey be back? Will Bushrod call it quits? The only thing we know for sure is Tunsil and James coming back and Tunsil could be our LT or our LG. Work to do there once again this off season
7-Corner- Like the o-line, questions all over. Will Maxwell be back? Will Howard have a great 2nd year? Will Lippett take the next step. I like all 3 of them to a point but all 3 of them have plenty to prove still.
8-TE I like Simms but really he's a 2nd TE all the way unless you want average as your starter. Last time we had a great TE was Keith Jackson. We can use a real #1 that can compliment our set of WR's.
9-LB I don't believe there's any doubt that LB it's our worst unit. We have one real starter that should be starting at MLB and after that it's nothing but ST players and 3rd stringer in most teams.

The one thing we do have going for us it's our HC who will get the most out of his team. I know 2 to 8 could go in a lot of different ways. The o-line would be higher if I felt everyone was coming back 100% healthy. The corners with questions as it's the d-line. Anyway, have fun with it and I won't take it personal when you don't agree....lol

I didn't think about giving them grades like that but that's cool. I guess I just wanted to see which units are fine and which need more work but that'll work too

Our starting OL is a B or a B+ and would probably be ranked in the top 3 units of our team. Based on all starters it's WR, OL, RB, S, P, QB, DL, K, CB, TE, LB.

Qb: We are stable. Matt Moore is a team friendly back up. He doesn't work against Tannehill and that's a very important relationship.

RB: We've got a young stable of running backs. I want more Drake early on and Heavy dose of Ajayi in the second halves.

WR: If Stills stays we are in good youthful shape. He will have to reproduce next year and not make his performance a contract year performance.

TE: Good enough to compete. Too many other areas to fix this upcoming year. Perhaps Duarte contributes this next year. Another area of youth.

O-line: Keep the left side stable with Albert one more year. Boost the guard positions. Acquire a free agent starter on the right tackle position and draft a backup and future Left Guard. Can Albert play the swing tackle position in 2018?

D-line: We need help. Any line with Suh and Wake should allow the others to plug the hole and be stout against the run. We are anything but that and falls on Mitchell, Branch and Phillips. I believe Phillips will develop. As good as Branch played at times, he did not stay home and missed many gap responsibilities. Somewhat aging group.

LB: Kiko and all new talent. Misi and Jenkins must only be backups if retained. Again with DL of Suh and Phillips taking up 3 linemen the LB's should be shooting all the gaps in run support. Complete revamping of this unit.

CB: Young, aggressive group. I like the potential and really am pleased with Lippett's growth. I believe Gase will harness Maxwell's potential and should be retained. Find a decent nickel CB to replace McCain.

S: If we come back healthy, it is one of our strengths. Michael Thomas is a great backup and ST player. Aikens or Hendy could be our backups. Youth and good mixture of talent.

Kicker/Punter: Bring in competition and make them earn their spots. Don't waste draft picks.

Our draft should be DL and LB with first 3 of the 4 picks. The fourth should be a Guard.
