Reggie Nelson. Solved! Lol
I'd be giddy if this happens.
Reggie Nelson. Solved! Lol
cutting sean smith is retarted(no offense). why would you just outright cut the 2nd best player in your secondary. the guy gets better every year. At his age, size, and price, you wont find another press corner available like him. he shouldn't be playing safety or nickel, smith is a #2 boundary PRESS corner. he and vontae are going to get beat sometimes because of their style of play, but they also make plays. theyre still growing. were moving away from nolans cover-2 stuff so the pressure on the safeties wont be as much. also coyle is a secondary guy. reshad jones and chris clemons and smith and vontae will benefit a lot this year from a full offseason with him.
want to improve the defense? add a young pass rusher or 2. stop putting money into d-tackles. get a pass rusher. it doesn't need to be mario williams at 70 million dollars. just draft an actuall pass rusher and hit on the pick. our defense has been a run stopping defense, but this is a pass-happy league. lets change the focus of the defense.
also jimmy wilson has plenty of upside. i think coyle will have fun with him. besides he was rusty and again: no offseason for a 7th round pick... surprised he made the team ya dig?
For all of you aking why I would trade Smith.....I would trade him because sucks, in my opnion. He drops too many sure ints, and we have Wilson waiting in the wings, who has shown some pretty good upside. He can play nickel.
I agree with this but smith along with the rest of the db's got their act together. the offseason was no friend. I actually noticed smith getting more physical at the LOS using his long arms to slow the start of the reciever. One more season for him IMO. New regime with an attacking style defense could change things for him. Plus I think Wilson will push for some time this year. I will not be surprised if we draft a CB and I wouldnt be suprised if we got one at #8/9 in the draft. in fact, itI may be more likely we get a CB than a DE (Coples) at 8/9.
