Huh-huh-huh-Henne and the Jets (Henne!)Now with Music!

Let's face it, we are going to find out a lot about Henne this Monday. I, for one, don't think we drafted this guy just so we could baby him. What do you think? You think Henning continues to let this kid open it up if the defense forces the issue? or do we run against a stacked box all night?

I have no idea...

This is the week we open up the play book, this is the most important game so far this season, Henne had his game and a half to get comfortable, now it's time to let him play, We're still gonna run the ball more than we pass, especially if it works, but we gotta take advantage of the Jets when they're not ready for the deep throw.

The Steelers didn't draft Big Ben to baby him, but they didn't have him airing it out in his 2nd game either. Henne will have to make some key throws, but Henning will have to be careful to put him in positions to succeed.

I doubt they want Henne to do more than convert some third and short passes when needed. Maybe a deep pass if they get single coverage, but the less Henne has to do, the better.

I think the Dolphins can run on the Jets D as they are not last years Ravens and the Miami OL is MUCH improved. If the Jets are careless, Ronnie or Ricky will have a chance to break some big runs.

I would like to see a pass or two out of the wildcat though, as the Jets will be blitzing to stop it and a big play will be there for the taking.

I guess that's my point. Henne will probably see a bunch of one on one matchups. Will Henning allow him to audible and try to take advantage?

You say that like we have the weapons to make one on one matchups a risky endeavor for the Jets. Darrelle Revis will shut down whoever he covers. Lito Sheppard is no slouch either, especially when the scariest guy he'll be covering is possession receiver coming off a torn ACL.

Henne isn't Marino. Hell, he ain't even Bob Griese yet. Ted Ginn sure as hell isn't Paul Warfield. Let's stick to what has been working and just run the ball. It'd be idiotic for one of the worst passing attacks in the league to attack one of the best pass defenses just to prove that we can.

I dunno, I think he will have to make some plays for us to win. Yes, we seem to have a dominating running game but this is the NFL and you have to believe a good defense can take that away if they focus on it. I expect both teams to keep things safe on offense, Miami needs to dial up the correct plays to nuetralize blitzes at the right times to be successful. I also think they need to somehow convince the Jets they won't be afraid to throw it early to hopefully back them off a bit. I agree with a post I saw earlier this week, we will throw the kitchen sink at them. Miami needs this win.

Must I remind you?

That's Dwight Lowery. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he a nickel back now rather than a starting CB?

Come on guys. Let's be realistic here. Our passing game is our weakness. The Jets' pass defense is their strength. What purpose does coming out guns a blazin' serve? We aren't here to pretend it's 1986 again. Let's stick to our strength and attack the Jets' weakness.

Well, he now has 2 weeks under his belt of practice. I think by now henning has found some play where he could connect deep.
I think that the Jets will stack the box at first and make us go deep, if we fail, then yes we will face a staked box all night.
who knows?
Monday cant come any faster, also I think your thread title is very clever. Kudos to you.

LV said it best. I'm not sure what will happen but what I am most sure about is that I can't wait to see it!

It is going to be a tough game. If we stick to how we've been playing ball, we will be ok. Run the ball and pass to keep them honest but we need to be able to bomb it a couple of times. If we can get a couple of big plays early and get in the secondaries heads, we will have a great chance at success.
