Obviously we are not used to losing. We, as Dolphin fans, have enjoyed rooting for one of the most consistent, solid teams in the NFL. We have become so used to winning, so used to being a contender year in and year out that even the thought of one season at the bottom seems unfathomable. Perhaps we were all naive to believe the we could continue to "patch, patch win"? Maybe we were all to blind to see that we were not one or two players from a super bowl but a team that was making a final grasp for that brass ring before it fell off into the abyss?

Regardless of what we thought, felt or believed we all have found ourselves sitting at a table eating humble pie. Maybe we are not just eating it but are swimming in it. Better yet, it feels as if we are being grabbed by the hair and being repeatedly slammed into it. Nevertheless, we all agree it doesn't taste good but it is what it is.

There is talk of replacing the Coach, General Manager, Quarter Back, Running Back, Offensive line, water boy, mascot, or parking attendant in an effort to some how turn things around and salvage what is increasing, at this point, looking like a long miserable season. The truth is no change at this point is going to salvage this team. The only thing that can do that is the team that we have. We all could learn a thing of two from the good people of Florida. When the storm comes its time to board up the windows, bring in the dog, hunker down and ride out the storm and try to pick up the pieces when it's over.

Welcome to 2004. The pie is fresh and hot from the oven. Pull up a chair, there is enough to go around. Can someone please pass the cool whip? Oh, I forgot, the Steelers intercepted it.

Who's we?......Many of us here warned that Wannstedt was slowly destroying this team.

We haven't seriously contended for anything since Shula was here.

Nope sorry my friend, FIN-ATIC, myself and many others here have been consistently saying this team is in trouble.

It has been more than apparent Wannstedt was losing this team and yet I was called everything in the book for suggesting it.

No, some of us aren't surprised at all......we fully expected it.

we as in a group over all. if wish separate yourself than thats fine. but as a majority I believe what I say is true.

Amen. But all we got was yelled at and ridiculed.

Fin-atic, I hear ya... I never took the brunt of hate you took, but I can totally understand. You have been around football long enough to know. Most of the spiteful people that ridiculed us all offseason are nowhere to be found now.

They are around. They are just very very quiet now.

I'm embarrassed at all the pity parties being thrown around here. I'll always stand up against those that do nothing but tear down and ridicule. I'll always be a flag bearer of hope. Many here have been holding onto the nails waiting to drive them into the coffin, shining up their hammers for the final blows. Have at it now, but I'll still be here hoping for a brighter tomorrow, hoping for a better day.

yea we might have to eat that humble pie this year, its the year we've all been fearing, daves doomsday year, the death spiral is nearing its end and we are all a part of it. it sucks for me even more so than others because i live in pittsburgh, and if theres one game i wanted to win it was last nites...

I can't remember or bother to look it up right now, but didn't it take Wanny exactly 5 years to do the same thing to the Bears when he took over? Bah, now it's buggin me I have to go look again.

-EDIT- Nope he was average for the first 4 years and it was dead in his 5th and 6th season. Let's hope we don't give him that 6th season.

-EDIT- Again, I take that back he did actually revive and ailing Mike Ditka's 1992 Bears team and bring them to average before he finished them off. Ah well, maybe he's only decent for 4 years and then he just loses it.
