If he could pick where to play next, Miami coach Larry Coker would obviously grab a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game, followed by a Bowl Championship Series appearance.

Neither of those will happen - so Coker has no real preference about which bowl takes his team.

"I just hope that we play the best team in the best bowl," Coker said Sunday. "When you're kind of the ugly stepsister, you just go to the prom with whoever asks you. ... But seriously, when things are out of your control and when you're not in control of your own destiny, you're kind of at the mercy of what's out there."

So, what's out there? Probably a spot in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville on Jan. 2 against Louisville, a Big East team that gave Miami fits last year and hosts the Hurricanes early in the 2006 season.

Man Louisville is no competition. I'd rather see us against Georgia, Auburn, or Bama.

Seeing you guys against Bama sounds like an interesting game actually.

True but Louisville might suprise us

I recall them taking you to the wire just last year @ Miami in the Orange Bowl. You had to have a Devin Hester miracle return to win the game.

I hope we don't end up in that bowl game. I don't want to play Louisville. We'll kill them. I'd rather play one of those SEC teams. THAT will draw the crowds and make money. Nobody gives a crap about Louisville. Especially without Brian Brohm. And we play Louisville early next season.

But it looks like that's our only option. Jan. 2 bowl game vs. December games. Prestige and $$$ always win out. Nevermind a ****ty game that nobody else will watch.

If Louisville had their QB they would beat Miami.

Without their QB Miami wins easily

Doubt it. They've only played three teams with winning records. They lost to two of them (West Virginia and USF - in a blowout), and the other is Rutgers.
