Agree with the general direction, but I'd wait for Jacksonville to cut J. Thomas. You can get him cheaper than his current contract on the open market, and you wouldn't be blowing a pick.
I'm hoping that some of these CB's get pushed up the boars, because I can easily see all of Miami's 1st-RD, front-7 targets off the board before pick 22. Anthony Walker love died down after a less impressive Senior season (added weight didn't clearly hindered his movement), but if he looks good at the Combine, he could work his way into the 1st. Walker's 2015 is probably the best season of any LB in this draft. 2016 was a step in the wrong direction, but he still played well and made a lot of plays.
17-per between Landry and Stills is pretty rich. If Gase values continuity at the position over talent/value, I could live with it, but I'm not sure that's the case. If you're willing to spend premium resources on WR (not my preferred route), you can draft Cooper Kupp, Taywan Taylor, or Josh Reynolds in the 2nd or 3rd (Kupl could sneak into the 1st). Each of those players has a better combination of skill and talent than Landry and Stills. If you'd rather just sign them so that you can spend the picks on D or OL and keep the same group together, I'd understand it. Overall, I hate spending premium resources on WR. It's the most saturated position in the NFL, and that trend doesn't seem to be slowing.
Nick Perry would be a DE in Miami, and he's one of my top FA targets. He struggled with LB responsibilities and injuries in GB, but when asked to rush the QB, he's been very good/dominant in spurts - elite explosive power. He only has one year of high-level production, so he should be relatively cheap. Let Landry return punts and sign C. Patterson to return kickoffs/play ST's and 5th WR.
