Hyde5: Did Belichick play Dolphins (and others) on Wilfork?

I can barely follow this. Is BB even the GM over there? It really sounds like Hyde is over thinking this one.

This is really ****ing stupid. Miami would have only signed him to a short-term, inexpensive contract anyway. They'd probably still offer him a short-term, inexpensive contract. Don't see how anything has changed - not like we have anyone with his skill set, so I'm sure we'd still have interest, but he's old and coming off an injury, so that interest would have caveats.

If at his age and coming off his injuries, if Wilfork wouldn't renegotiate his inflated number, why would Hyde think anyone other than Oakland, Dallas and maybe Rick Spielman would bite on Wilfork if available at his inflexible price? And yes, what BB did was cost Wilfork money with his stupid head feint. When it comes to local reporting, I'd bet sight unseen, that we're at the bottom of the proverbial barrel.

The Miami press is totally committed to bury the Dolphins FO, Armando, Omar and Dave are huge a holes that do not provide any insight into what the team is doing or trying to do, they just concentrate on put downs rather than providing some semblance of knowledge or analysis.

Hyde has been pretty irrelevant in the local media. Breaking news and having sources really has never been his thing. He is just a guy who writes opinion pieces after others break the big stories. Honestly he has always just kind of been there. Lately though he has become somewhat of an annoyance. Don't like him or hate him, but he is starting to become more noticeable for the wrong reasons.

Please tell me you're joking. Columnists are several tiers above the reporters who scramble to break stories. Maybe your preferred role here skews your impression of the real world. Writers who demonstrate rare ability ascend to columnist. Hyde is not only a columnist but he's the lead columnist in a major market and his resume is littered with major awards.

And what has he done recently?

Over the last few years ive had online subscriptions to several miami papers plus read the websites and nobody comes to barry jackson.

Greg Coyte is the most worthless one as far as I can see, he writes nothing but fluff pieces

I'm probably in the minority, but I'm totally comfortable with the Earl Mitchell signing to replace Soliai. Younger, lower cost, emerging talent, well spoken professional - we had to fight hard to snare him ahead of San Diego. Vince Wilfolk has been a fantastic contributor for New England for many years, but I wouldn't have changed paths - Wilfolk vs Mitchell. Let's see what we have.

Not joking at all, Hyde is irrelevant. You always need people to break and report news, but if you drop Hyde, there is no reason to try and replace him. No one, perhaps maybe you, would miss him. Honestly I pretty much avoid anything he writes. As much as I dislike Armando the person, I would much rather read his information than Hyde's junk.

One of the dumbest things i have ever read. What team wants to overpay for that old fatass coming off and achillies injury? I know we wouldn't. Seems like he put the screws to Wilfork. That's what you get for being loyal in New England.

**** Soliai that lazy fat ass, he didn't do a thing in his first 4 years, and then woke up, but when it counted he laid down, as in his the last 2 games in Miami
