Hyde5: Five questions about odd Larry Johnson signing

Because the Pats and Jets have a proven track record of making those kinds of players better, while the Dolphins do not.

I disagree, Ricky Williams, Icognito, and Marshal have all been fine with us. Tony knows how to keep guys in line even on a 7-9 team, I'd like to see Sexy Rexy or BB do that.

5 ANSWERS FOR DAVE HYDE!!!!

Answer to question #1

Ricky crushed this coaching staff, you are not going to invest in a guy who has always been kind of a bonehead regardless of abilities especially if he hates the staff and will be a team and locker room problem

Answer to question #2

Dolphins have an elite WR in Marshall, maybe the best slot receiver in the NFL in Bess a good compliment WR who just seems to get open in Hartline and a young speedster who adds an over the top element we did not need a guy who may or may not erupt at some point when we have alot of young talent at the position, NOT TO MENTION, Reggie bush is a receiver and you add Clay and Fasano the enter receiving core is ok without him.

Answer to question #3

Yes they are happy especially after the Carolina game, this is in no way a reflection on DT. This is a vet coming in to a 3rd back slot MAYBE. We need a short yardage guy in goal line situations well what 6 foot 230 lbs of downhill alil peyton hillis sounds better then a dancing ronnie or a headcase ricky.

Answer to question #4

He contradicts himself, so sheets didnt pan out. When a speed guy hurts his foot ankle or knee seriously he is DONE because he loses a step Sheets was never gonna be that guy again so we cut him. But he says we cant develop the backside of the roster, well Bess, Wake, Carpenter, Soliai, Murtha, Jones hell even Jimmy Wilson, Hillard (big time ST guy) and Nolan Carroll were all UDFA or late round picks who add great depth to this team.

Answer to question #5

Uh what the hell do you call Livas, Bush and Gates who are all game breakers not to mention if you simply need a punt caught in a tight game you can put in Bess. 4 players seems like options with the element of returning punts and kicks. And as for coverage i think guys like Jimmy Wilson will make us alot better than a 3rd string RB will on kick coverage.

So there you go answers to his 5 stupid *** questions. Man i swear the level of reporting in today's sports world is so very sad.

I don't really care too much about this signing since he most likely won't be here long.....I just wish we would have kept Ricky. There is nothing Johnson can teach the new guys that Ricky can't. Work ethic is second to none and talk about a power runner! Hated seeing him go

Only in Finheaven do you find those foolish enough to believe they drafted a bust only 2 games into the preseason. Omar insinuated this which makes me wonder how many of you follow him and believe his moronic thoughts :bobdole:

We are talking about a 3rd or 4th string running back at a vet minimum who may not even make the team. Seriously people, do we have to cry about everything. GEEZ!

What I want to know is how hungry is he? Has he been working hard to come close to the form he once was? Or is he washed up for good?

Best question is who the **** do you want? you don't want Johnson, You don't want Portis, there's nothing better out there, we should have resigned Ricky.

imo the reason everybody is pissed is because we sit and let every RB in the league go to diff teams (just like we did with QB ) and didnt make a move until all was gone now we scrambling around trying to find a bk up RB to sign and all is left are scrubs . lol

Like i said before the front office doesn't know what they are doing. They do one good thing and follow it up with bone head moves like this one. they probably punishing ricky for saying those things about the coach and gm. Which i believe was true anyway. Chrowder didn't have anything nice to say about Ireland either.

Exactly why would we care what a nonproductive, loudmouth lb who got cut and is now acting like a spurned ex girlfriend and a 34year old running back who abandoned his team, neither of which have been any good in the last couple of years, think about the GM?

He's done a good job if you ask me. But yes, lets keep changing qbs/coaches/gms every 2 or 3 years, that's a great idea. Its worked wonders these last 10 years.

They released Sheets not DT. Get a grip. This guy is not here to compete with DT or Bush he is competing for the last RB spot. Don't let your negativity cloud your judgement and act like a cluless media person trying to grap headlines. Its pure media speculation (poor speculation) that insinuates this move has anything to do with DT.

Well... it's really quite rare to release a first-day player (used to include 3rd rounders) no matter how badly they suck. They're drafted that high for their athletic ability, college record, and it's understood it takes a while to blossom in the NFL, so you usually give these guys at least a couple of seasons to see what they have.

RB is an extremely easy position for NFL standards. To be replacement level (average player from the bench) the requirement usually is to breathe; to be average starting RB quality, you can usually find guys in FA or bottom half of the draft. Sure, rare talents are way ahead of everyone else, but they're not near impossible to find like an elite QB, DB, etc. are... And for a 2nd rounder RB to not pan out immediatly, it is quite a dissapointment.

But we shall see when the season rolls around. Hell, we still haven't played the 3rd preseason game!

Punishing Ricky by letting him go to any team he chooses. I love it

Only on FH does it blow up with complaints when the Fins sign someone that isn't the ideal 3rd runningback.. maybe even 4th.

How can u say 3rd or 4th??? Maybe i have not looked over the roster in a while. Is bush a starting RB?Or more like a third down back? So who else besides thomas do the fins have?Lex?Is he a FB or RB?Looks like larry is the only other real RB they have behind thomas..

I'll repeat, Sparano himself came out and said Johnson isn't a lock to make the team. A running back being counted on to help the team all year wouldn't be on the verge of potentially being cut soon.

He hasn't been known to be a "starting" back but he'll be one here.. or at least splitting the carries with DT. He won't just be a 3rd down back here.
