Over the last couple of years, I wasn't the biggest Joey Harrington fan. He had a ton of pressure on him in Detroit and didn't work out for them, but I think he will make a very good backup in Miami, and for the price of a 2007 6th round draft pick, this is very good news for the Miami Dolphins.
As I did a little research on Harrington, I've come to the conclusion that he is better than any quarterback we had on our roster last year -- AND HE WILL BE OUR BACKUP QB!!!! When Coach Saban said he wanted to improve the QB situation, he stuck to his word.
Since it looks like Daunte will miss a few games this year, I think with Nick Saban's coaching, he can refine Harrington's game and turn him into a more accurate and younger Gus Frerotte, possibly much more. And how cool would that be if he plays really well when called upon? Not just for the sake of victory, but he could become great trade bait. I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but I am just so glad to see our QB situation getting to be a strength again, something we haven't been able to say since the mid 90s.
GO DOLPHINS!
(and welcome Joey Harrington!)
