Mark my words, we're going to regret not having Ireland. This year maybe even next we won't see it, because Ireland already built the talent we currently have. But if everything goes south 2 years down the line with this second fiddle candidate who couldn't even get a look for the job with the terrible organization he's been with for 18 years in control, I'll be here to say I told you so.

I hope it doesn't happen but I fear it will..

Hopefully then Ross will sell the team.

You are referring to the 7-9 and 8-8 talent of the past two years or the talent of the past 5 years?

Yes I am referring to that talent. the difference between 13-3 and 7-9 isn't that big talent wise, its more about the coach/qb combo coming together. I think Lazor is going to help bring tannehill along and our offense into the 21st century. Ireland was never the problem. But ignorant masses always need a scapegoat, and Ireland made an easy one.

Either Ireland or Philbin had to go.
The marriage wasn't working.

Ireland was definitely a problem if he was continuously drafting on his own Philosophies and not aligning with Philbin.

I agree that when all is said and done Ireland will be viewed upon more favorably than Hickey. That being said, I don't miss Ireland. It was time for him to go, he failed in key areas. Unfortunately, our owner is about as bright as a dim bulb, so we somehow downgraded. So it goes...

Lol, got a love the Ireland fans. Waste all our draft picks on scrubs and trade are best players for back ups. And you still love Ireland. dolphins fans for yea. Can't even have a sell out.The list goes on and on. I'm glad I live in Minny!

Ireland found some players and I think our coaching is a problem. I was rooting for him and hoped this year would turn out differently. But, he wasn't the answer. He had 6 years to prove himself. You really look at this roster and say "I wouldn't trade it for any other team's roster?" 6 years is a lifetime in the NFL. That is 2 full roster churns.

You can't look at our offensive line over the past 2 years and say coaching was the problem -- though it certainly may have contributed. Ireland didn't provide any talent on that line, other than Pouncey. He invested stupid money in veterans the first couple of years -- veterans that had injury histories.

The lifeblood of an offense is the offensive line. If they suck, the offense sucks. He had 6 years and failed, plain and simple.

Ireland is a proven failure. I'd rather have the unknown commodity at this point.

If we regret anything it'll be not cleaning house completely.

Well, that's just too ****ing bad....now isn't it.

Ireland has drafted nothing but busts in the 2nd round, ignores units in dire need of upgrades, and is too willy-nilly to shuffle around players, totally disregarding team chemistry and depth issues. He's also brought in numerous character-issue players to this team, which is especially difficult for Miami as they have little influence on the media spinning stories their way. While I would agree that coaching has been a greater issue, I don't doubt that Ireland's always been part of the problem.

Why???

What has Hickey done so far that has caused you to long for the days of Ireland? Serious question.

Well, the people wanted change & got it. Don't bitch & moan now about it now. Sometimes, you need to be careful what u wish for. I'm no great Ireland fan but this GM search was a disaster. Until Ross learns that half measures don't work, we're going nowhere mighty fast.
