I am flip-flopping on Jake Long, I have lowered my expectations for the #1 to wanting a sure thing.

so either Long would be fine with me. It sucks not to get a LT but a dominant RT for 30 million beats a huge bust

if we were going to play a 4-3 I would put Dorsey and Ellis in this category too.

we could put Long in at RT immediately and be one guard away from an above average OL. it would be a luxury of some sorts to run at will to the right side. additionaly there is something to be said for drafting a guy that could provide exellence at a position for at least 10 years

same goes for Chris Long, contributes immediately and will be a physical force

Just have fun guessing like the rest of us...thats what it's all about.

love those NFL Network commercials

back in August I thought:

- Eli Manning sucked
- Randy Moss was old and done
- Wes Welker was a 60 catch 800 yard receiver
- the Jets were gonna be decent
- the Dolphins would win more than 4 games

and other things to numerous to remember

I have stopped believing in "sure" things since Robert Gallery became just a servicable Guard..

I want Jake, too, and I agree there are no sure things, but that goes both ways.

Some "experts" are sure he can't be a left tackle, but...then again, maybe he can.

The only experts are the ones making the picks for the Dolphins.

I think to some extent they ruined Gallery

who was their OL coach at the time?, god knows it wasn't Joe Bugel

talk about the worst organization to go to

I agree but I think its harder to ruin a Giant LT more than any other position in football, I just think people ignored his lack of agility and quickness.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere he was going back to Iowa last and this offseason to work with his old college coaches. Something about him going back to the basics and going with what works for him. I wish I could find that link.

But yeah, as for the topic of this thread, I agree completely. I don't think we can go wrong with either of the Longs. I just want someone who can step in and shore up a position if we do get stuck at #1

No, they're not the only experts. But, they ARE the only experts that count for the Dolphins! Everyone else can go pound sand, as long as our picks turn out to be winners. If not, it'll be the same old "I knew we should have picked so and so!"

You know as well as I do that our hindsight experts will be out in full force this time next year if we don't hit 100% on our draft picks, it never fails.

There are no "experts" only analysts...experts are not wrong 50% of the time.
