So on a different note I am glad we have Tannehill and not Manziel.... wow he looked so bad lol. I think Tebow might actually be better.Where is the "Dolphins should draft Manziel if he is on the board" crowd?

Dude, I wasn't one of those who wanted him but he's started 1 game. Isn't it too early to be calling him a bust already?

exactly. i am in the same boat, i never really cared for manziel, but seriously, after 1 game hes a bust?

i remember tannehills first nfl game, it wasn't exactly the best game either.

Agreed.

However, I was calling him a bust on draft day ... sooooo :chuckle:

Did you guys not watch the game.... Tannehills first game was not nearly as bad. He did have 3 INT but it was because of Watts pass deflection. Manziel just made horrible reads and dumb passes. I am labeling him a bust and you can quote me next year on it =]

Comp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Int
20 36 55.6 219 6.1 0 3
These are Tannehills numbers. He played a very tough Houston D. Watt had I believe 2 deflections for INT but he made a lot better throws without a WR or TE like Gordon and Cameron.

Its early yes but if you said from the beginning he was a bust well this validates that point

Manziel just had a come to reality moment that he cant just run around and chuck up prayers into the end zone like at A&M.

Not calling him a bust yet, but maybe less party time and more study room?

The very best you'll get from Manziel is Tony Romo. That's not bad, if he can get there. Very similar QBs. Romo has tremendous feel in the pocket and vision downfield.

Too early to call Manziel a bust, but I'll be shocked if he's not.

Being a good NFL quarterback might be the most rare skill set on earth. You need to meet certain physical requirements (for which Johnny is barely adequate) and you need to have a tremendous work ethic to maintain and improve a very specific skill set set (which Johnny doesn't), and then you need to be able to process information and make right decisions in the split second you have to work with, or improvise when things go wrong (Johnny does have that). Two of these three things, I think a player can work on and improve on with the right attitude and enough experience. The big thing is that Manziel is kind of an unusual situation in that he's independently wealthy and just seems determined not to care about putting in the effort.

As I see it, if Johnny had Mike Vick type of physical talent, or if he actually had some work ethic, he'd have a great chance to be a great quarterback. But lacking both of those things? Taken Voice: Good luck.

And I'd add this: for those who think his height doesn't matter, Drew Brees and Doug Flutie truly were exceptions. Russell Wilson is a good quarterback, but he's struggling to play within the pocket and this is something a lot of people are noticing right now. Russ has off-the-charts intangibles and a great skill-set, but what he doesn't have is a 6'3" frame. He's still working to overcome that. Johnny Manziel does not have Russell Wilson's tremendous intangibles or work ethic.

Maziel will not be a good QB, but I will say I think he is handling the NFL media better than I thought he would. But yea, Manziel sucks.

Mike Vick was 4.4 flat manziel is late 4.6s...that is what has his head spinning...the NFL speed and how everyone can run like he can...add in Vick had a howlitzer and manziels arm is at best slightly better than average and off his back foot straight weak
