I am here to eat crow. Going back to the fall through this week, I used such phrases as "pipe dream" or "turn the page" when it came to signing Ndamukong Suh. I just did not think it was going to happen. It was possible to create the cap room…that was obvious, I just figured they would shoot for "smaller targets".

Well, I was wrong. I apologize to anyone that said it WAS possible. Props to you guys and props to all us Fin fans because today is a great, great day. Fins Up!

*** At the same time, there were many here killing the hiring of a one Mike Tannenbaum. I thought the hire was spectacular and would give credibility and direction to the Dolphins. Obviously, with the blessing and cash from Mr. Ross, Tannenbaum delivered in getting Suh. He is a skilled negotiator and has great relationships around the league.

Those that killed the Tannenbaum hiring, should eat the heaping portion of crow today as well. In the longterm, this organization is in good hands with Mike Tannenbaum.

You didn't mean. You just didn't want to jinx it.

Now watch, TannenBum will make Hickey draft the next Vernon Gholston, Kyle Wilson or Vlad DuCasse.

Yeah, the same "good hands people" that created such a hole in his wake that Itzdick got fired not being able to dig out of it after 2 years.

It's really comforting to know that a failed GM who couldn't even get a lateral position is now spearheading the Fins, isn't it?

I've been trying to tell people here for awhile, Tannenbaum was good in ny, don't judge him on last few years there.

They had no $, and limited draft picks.

But his job was to win asap and get out of the shadow of the giants, he did that. they knew they were possibly sacrificing some future years, but it was well worth it. Tannenbaum plays aggressive, and knows the world sports agency/team relationship world well.

He can get things done.

I was just going to ask you about this Hayden....but all that matters is we got the man. It's gonna be fun watching our defense....cannot wait to see what else we can do between now and week one.

But what if Suh "comes to his senses"??

Lions hope Suh "comes to his senses"
“[The Dolphins] can’t finalize until Tuesday,” a Lions source told Josina Anderson of ESPN.com. “We will hope he comes to his senses [before then].”
“[The] key is playing for coach [Jim] Caldwell and Teryl [Austin],” the source told Anderson. “Plus good players around him. Can’t get that there [in Miami].

they have some pair of balls.

Good job Hayden...I can understand anybody being pessimistic this could happen....I don't know why but my gut was telling me it would....when he flew down here last week, and I never heard about him leaving...it seemed in the bank.

It will very interesting seeing what happens next....I do agree Tannenbaum seems to be good for this organization...don't want to take away anything from Hickey though.

Great day!

there's only 1 person on this board you need to seek forgiveness from...enduro :chuckle:

I gotta be honest, I knew Suh was gonna be a free agent, but I never imagined the Fins we're going to even try to be involved with it. I figured they were just gonna look the other way

Disagree on TBaum though, he sucked with the jets giving Sanchez that contract, Gholsten etc.
I hope he proves me wrong.

extremely... Very desperate and insulting. How classless can you get.

Caldwell drafting off the fumes of Dungy until PManning went down.. and then how good was he? Having Suh, Calvin and Stafford sure makes him a good HC. Bottom Line: he's better than Philbin with about the same dynamic personality, but neither one of em are top 20 HCs in the league.
